hey guys, From what I've seen in many net reviews this product has been generally highly-rated. But I also wanna hear some first hand experiences/feedback So, any satisfied users of the Rollamajig here? Or anybody who can vouch for its benefits? So far I've only met one rider who has this. But this friend of mine is still quite the MTB noob so he can't provide the objective answer that I want to hear. It seems that this product is also rather rare (daw) and hard to come by, so I was told. Sa Detour (now Dirt Dawg) pa ata nabili nya noon. Personally I haven't seen in it most bike shops that I used to frequent in the metro

I think it made my shifting crispier, but that is just me.

Rollamajigs are only good if you currently have shifting problems or ghost shifting. There's no need buy it if you're not experiencing problems. Why introduce another part that could fail?

they do make shifting crisper and easier though. i ran them on my xt rd's before. they're cheap (P250), require zero maintenance and really work.

i've been using this rollamajig on my xc bike too for more than a year now and it seems to be working well for me in combination with my xt shifter, xt rd and sram chain and cogs with proper installation and tuning - shifting is really smooth and crisp well at least for my bike

i've had this on my bike also and it's shifting good. but here's what happened in my case.
i've used Shimano C050 RD, it has this pulley technology similar to XTR. in theory it works similar to your normal RD with a rollamajig. i've used the C050 for about 2 years and it just feels and shifts better. it might just be me also but i installed one for my dad also and he's happy with it. he actually got looks from his ride buddies and they are all asking where he got it.

mervs, back then when i bought it in cycleart, the stuff was in a container half the size of a shoebox, until it all disappeared
bo, i did have shifting problems back then (as deore is known to be) and it really helps
if you can buy it at the price quoted by king, not bad

they have stock in extreme in QC. as an alternative, you can make the cable loop going into your RD bigger - it will help cure ghost shifts...

P250! what a great price. I paid $15.
I couldn't tell a difference in shifting with my hardtail... XTR RD w/Nokon cables. I can't speak about other derailleurs though. Although, it did help minimize the ghost shifting on my FS rig and helped minimize the size of the cable loop.

I'm thinking that the incremental benefits that the rollamajig provides is more pronounced in low to mid end RDs/set-up (Acera to Deore) rather than in high end ones (LX-XT-XTR). Because said units are already expected to be more precise and efficient, and will likely give a premium performance, at least on paper
Just a thought though. (I wouldn't know coz I have yet to experience the 'majig) What do you guys think?

Where did this happen, Reymond? and what happened to you/bike? Re rollamathingy I bought 2 at Powerbikes before...works very well (heck its just a pivot pulley guide) but the geometry for the wires are smoothened and this accounts for the accurate pull and throw It works ... Anyway, its a very cheap upgrade..considering

i'm using it on Saint, XT, LX... seems to works wonderfully on all of 'em. Buy it w/o regrets.
i have modified the LX by removing the adjuster (that's in every Shimano RD except the Saint) and making it more like the Saint. u really need only one adjuster and for me it's where the shifter is.

I changed my crappy loop of MOB* shifter cable back to stock shimano sis cable and adjusted viola butter smooth shifting on one try. I still want to try that rollamajig though.
FYI raven have some stocks but then again maybe their gone.
* I also changed my Avid flak jacket back to the nifty MOB brake cable and it performed 10 times better why? Surprisingly there was a lot less load on my one finger braking (I brake a lot and I noticed getting tired only on avid flak jackets) and a lot less squish. SRAM rocks ... not

I once crashed hard and spun the bars and stretched my cables taut that one of my barrel adjusters at one of my shifters bent (and stripped a bit). Now all my barrel adjusters at my shifters and levers are flushed and I do my adjustments at my ders. My preference.

those i really need. there isnt a day of riding for me without ghost shifting or misgears. im using LX shifters and derailleurs. about that crispy shifting, does it include crispy performance as well.
what i mean by crispy performance is that will the shifting of some shifters still be smooth after that thing is installed?

i'm deathly serious about buying one (or two) but all stocks are apparently sold out. I've asked from just about every major bike shops in the metro and the d@mn majig is nowhere to be found

i just bought a yellow rollamajig from raven a couple of days ago. i havent installed it yet. ghost shifting is the reason why i bought this product. i have a FS bike that ghost shifts when i stand and pedal, but when im seated and pedaling(w/ some rear suspension sag), no problem. my rd cable tension is fine when im seated and pedaling, but when i stand and pedal, it ghost shifts because the rd cable tension becomes loose. ive changed my shifter cable and shifter cable housing, i made a larger loop from front to rear frame triangle, i made a bigger loop from rear frame triangle to rd but it still ghost shifts when i stand and pedal. do u guys think the rollamajig can help me w/ my problem? =)

Tribal, Ghost shifting is a problem among some FS bikes this is caused by the rear triangle movement causing some movement in the shifter cables. The solution is to run full cable housing from your shifter to your rear derailler. Your cables will no longer fit in the standard cable stops so you just have to zip tie the cable to your frame and rear triangle. Hope this helps.
