On hydration packs, I don't suggest on getting a camelback (bigmouth (?)).... keeps leaking where the you place the lid. I thought mine was a defect until I found out my friend with the same hydration pack had the same problem.

in buying hydration pack
much better if we check the quality of the bladder not the bag lang.
And kahit Phils. am sure matibay iyon. Matagal na din sanay ang mga pinoy sa pag gawa ng bag.
Probabaly sa bladder dehins, pero sa bag am sure matibay din. kaya lets not say Phils lang.
better say vietnam lang hehehehehehehe

Burikot,
I'm using Thermobak. It's a Camelbak variant na may insulation liner from the bladder to the hose. Mine is 70 oz. or two liters. Very good ang insulation niya. Keeps the water cold for a number of hours--3-4 hours depending on how much ice you put in or how hot the weather. Check mo the Outdoor store in glorietta or the one at galleria they have this. As to how much, check them out na lang.
As to where this is made, believe it or not, it's made here in Pinas. Correct me if I'm wrong, I think, all hydration packs are made here.

This usually comes off when you open it without noticing. It happens to me so when I clean by hydration pack, I take note of the O-ring. Hope I helped.

....I think you lost the O-ring that comes with the lid. This usually comes off when you open it without noticing. Hmm.... never noticed an O-ring. I would've noticed it while cleaning it because I always clean my hydration on the sink... Hmm.... And di lang pala kami 2 na may same problem, 3 pala kami.

i bought a turbolite hydration pack last friday for P900.00 at extreme bikes. the owner of the shop told me that the bite valve is the part most often upgraded. i thought maybe because of wear. yesterday i took the turbolite for a ride and i found out that the water drips from the bite valve. is this common with other bite valves? although i found out that i can prevent water from dripping from the bite valve by blowing some air and pushing the water back.

rab, piece of advise wear that bladder out stock. don't change the bite valve coz you'll be changing bladders is about 6months tops the great thing about the turbolites is that they are exact replicas of camelbak mules (take of the turbolite badge and voila a mule poseur! ...at least thats what we all did ;D) 5 out of 6 people (including me) in the 1st 3months of use, already had holes and tears in the bladders that caused them to leak, we all got the generic deuters that edmond sells at all terra... great bitevalve lock, easy to fill-up and clean (even has a drain for when you're drying a newly cleaned one). that's much more worth spending on then a bite valve IMO

Im using a salomon bag (adventure brand) and a generic bladder.
It has space for some baon, tools and can fit 1L to 1.5L. You can also use it for normal day to day activities.
Total cost is P1900.++

I personally can give a thumbs up for camelbak(classic) US made. I bought it noong mountaineering days pa. The bladder is so tibay...it still serves its purpose up to now. Sawa nlang ko & the blader kinda dirty look na so I bought a new one Eusebio sports it works as may camelbak. It has a curve back to prevent ur sweat running ur back. It can take a 1.5L bladder & large storage. I hope so mag last. It cost only 1,5k @ tobys.

update on pricing, i hope i don't get banned for this one, he he he here's what i went through as far as hydration packs: 1) White Mountain pack with 2L Platypus Hoser - this is a very light combination, unfortunately the pack i got has no extras. it just houses the bladder. it's good for mountaineering or you jersey has back pockets to carry other stuff. cost me around P1500 i think 2) Treknique (from Expedition Plus) with 2L Platypus Hoser - this is also light and the pack has 3 compartments. 1 for the bladder and 2 for tools and what not. it also has bungee cords at the back for tying wet items. the pack costs around P600 3) Conquer Hydropak with generic 2.5L bladder - so far this is the heaviest combination i got, i have tried the pack but not the bladder yet. the pack has an aluminum stay to it curves away from your back. it has 3 zippered compartments and one meshed on the outside. pack is P850 something, bladder is around P400 something. for hydration packs, i support local products!!!! he he he. for the bladder, well i think the generic one i got is a knockoff from the camelbak design. i just don't know where it's made

brad, it's the pack only, bladder is P1200. but!!!! he he he, if you can go to Trek in Quirino, near taft, you might be able to get a hold of Platypus like bladders for P600 i think. they sell 1 liter bladders for P300. although i'm selling my Treknique pack now. hmm...gotta take a pic and post it
