Yo Marcz am 180lbs now lost abot 10 lbs, am not changing the stock springs coz it motivates me to drop my poundage to save 1.5K for the replacement Anyway, is there a replacement knob for the U Turn to make it easier on us to change the Trav? am not that happy with the stock rubber knob Brow I think wat cozd my Maxle Problem was that i overtighted it and banged the fork lowers. DAng i think the treads are damaged

haha good motivation. the new Pikes actually have aluminum knobs, not sure if those replacement parts will fit our Pikes. It's a good idea to change it. I broke my rubber knob already from twisting it too hard.

Tanx for the Info Brow Newey, after a ride, do you always store the Pike in Full Trav Mode? 140 mm? in the manual ksi ( or maybe im just having blurred vision ;D ) I dont see such instruction eh. But I do keep it at that when not in use.

06 RS Sid Race
I was able to test this fork today at one of my favorite trails. I was afraid it would be flexing but I didn't have any problems with it. It was a bit firm though, but I purposely overinflated the chambers to make it stiffer than normal.
I guess flex won't be an issue if you are relatively light (i weigh in at 160 lbs. with all my gear)
Not having a poplock isn't an issue with me since i hardly stand up to pedal.
I'm glad I got it. I think I'll get another and replace my reba. hahaha (joke tofi)
Thanks Buknoy.

okidok,
Where did you buy it? Have it replaced- NOT REPAIRED. One week is much too short for them or even RockShox to deny you of that replacement. Tago mo resibo! If I were you, I'd start writing RockShox to see what they can do for me.

Thanks.. nhan, i think the J-series for is now known as the DART... but you can still find & buy the J-series... application: satisfactory weight: a bit heavy performance: satisfactory budget: excellent other recommendation: ROCK SHOX revelation (thought, it has one bad review here), tora, recon, pike, reba, sid... ;D

brusKO,
King's sad to say, I'm in the province and I cant go there ASAP for the replacement. BTW, cut already the steerer. know what, I ask for the warranty, service lang daw I ask Jane to write the warranty on the receipt she did not "sakit daw sa ulo" cause of the exellent review on this fork, i agreed on a month. Rock shox say bushings are wear and tear part and needs to be replaced. for @#$$ sakes, I only have 40 km on this fork. right now my option is to find a good and trusted wrench man who have done newer RS forks. Anybody or an LBS you can recommend. thanks, okidok

Try Endurance Bike Shop. Don Bautista I think has a good wrenchman who can fix that. They're in Las Pinas area.
I never buy from Quiapo when the item is monetarily big.

hey okidok, when you say "Rock shox say bushings are wear and tear part and needs to be replaced" did you mean you already got in touch with them directly regarding this? i say you email them and explain the situation.they are very understanding. remember, SRAM is the best!

Bushings don't wear out that easily. Write SRAM/RS... I'm sure they'll do something about it.

TIA mt.guitars owns one and i think he's lovin' it (uh, right jon?) I think there's one post where he informally reviewed/battle tested this fork. the Recon is my orig fork of choice but i settled for the Tora coz at less than 3k (i think) the only diff is the chromoly sliders and the lack of travel gradients

at Extreme 17K, Bikeroom 16K, Kings 12K (no stock) Whoa! Why is there such a big difference for the price of the Recon? Are these of the same year and model? Does it include the poploc remote?

Not sure why, i just ask and give the same details of the fork to the three shops listed above and they just give the figures... just a hunch: significant difference in pricing is prob'ly because there are at least three Recon variants - the 351 U-turn and solo air (both motion control equipped) and the lower end 327 (same features minus motion control). the solo air is the most expensive. just maybe they are selling different variants. i do recall that Jane used to sell a Recon 351 U-turn at 13k.

Extreme is one of the authorized dealer of SRAM and they carry full service warranty. The other 2 LBS i'm not sure. Fork with no serial no. cheap but no warranty.
