Let me start:I personally think I'm not qualified to give a "review" on the bike because I have had it for a short period pa lang. So, my first impressions are as follows: The Ibis Mojo is a dream-come-true for me. I wanted to have "The One Bike" to do the full spectrum of mountainbiking (without going the extremes of XC racing and DH racing). And indeed, I got The One Bike for me,meaning, it suits my style of riding and my intended purpose for the bike: to be able to ride trails, climb, descend and play with confidence and inspiration to push harder, go farther, ride more and improve on my skills and performance. It's light enough (fitted with reasonable-budget components) for long, all-day rides, strong enough for rough and agressive terrain, and the value is worth the investment (without the risk of getting kicked out of the house by my wife when she finds out about the cost. hehe.). LIGHT, STRONG, BIG VALUE. In the five months that I've enjoyed mountain biking with my Mojo, I can say that I have made a very wise choice of getting to own it. The only down side I could ever complain about is that this bike is so good that it emphasizes how weak I am that I wont be able to push this bike to its full potential if I don't focus on getting better at my riding. And oh, btw, the shiny and sexy looks can make you paranoid when the tambays would stare at it on the streets/trails/etc. hehe. ;D FRAME: Mojo Carbon Classic, Medium SHOCK: '07 Fox RP23 FORK: '08 Fox TALAS RLC CRANKSET: '08 Shimano XT CASSETTE: Shimano CN-H693 FD: '08 Shimano XT down swing/top pull RD: '08 Shimano XT Shadow long cage SHIFTERS: Shimano XT Rapidfire BRAKESET: '08 Shimano XT Servowave ROTORS: '08 Shimano XT CenterLock 7"front/6"rear WHEELSET: Mavic CrossRide disc TIRES: Kenda Nevegal 2.1 DTC folding TUBES: Continental Unitube 26x1.75-2.5 presta STEM: Thomson Elite X4 100mm 31.8 SEATPOST: Thomson Elite 16mmSetback 31.6 BARS: Truvative Hussefelt DH 2"rise 27"wide SADDLE: WTB (OE with steel rails) GRIPS: Oury slide-on PEDALS: Shimano M545 SPD with single-release cleats RIDER: 5'8" Height, 140lbs Weight (naked), 160lbs Weight (with gear and hydra pack) TOTAL BIKE WEIGHT: 26.8 lbs (according to digital scale at BTC) BIKE'S NAME: Ikleta (as in Ibis ikleta)

I am disappointed with my Ibis Mojo. I was hoping Mojo would bail me out kanina from falling down (pls refer to Trail Gallery: "Licao Licao Never Was" thread dtd june 24) like it always did Brian Lopes. Since I ain't no Brian Lopes, I fell off Ibis Mojo.
1. Maybe if it is Not a day after TS#3 hit LicaoLicao's rocky road trails, my Ibis Mojo would have saved my skin?
2. Maybe Ibis Mojo is no match against havoc Typhoon Franz unleashed?
3. Better still, I am just an old fart who is a 'has been' and ought to pose my Ibis Mojo around UP Ikot Ikot na lang instead of flexing Mojo's muscles at Licao Licao.

You may have slipped and slid, but your skin may have been saved from the dangers that lurked way far ahead. Based on the pics and your post in the Trail Gallery section, the hostile environment and terrain conditions indeed look challenging esp after the storm. But adversity can bring out the best in whatever/whoever endures it. Round 2, Fight! By admitting this, it's as if you're admitting defeat. In your post Licao Licao Never Was, you said that you decided to retreat. Good and wise decision. "Retreat is not surrender, rather a smart step to fight back." -Titaniumgearsolid

Very well said...titaniumgearsolid. I really appreciate fellow Ibesian taking my side even though I was blaming Mojo when I should be the one taking the hit in the first place for Not being a better rider.
But again, this may be the first and last you will hear from moi going against Mojo. Because truth is, I am smitten by Mojo. I am in love with my Mojo. I adore our Mojo. I worship Mojo.
Litany of praises I have for Mojo is endless. I am just waiting for a thread like this to be posted so I can justify heaping posi daily on Mojo everytime it tickles me Pink. Which happens everytime I take her out for a spin.

Emotional issues? I can't unburden my soul here when life treats me too emotionally?
My Ibis Mojo is an emotional bobbing thingy = cut and dry. I can't help but be emotional when I talk about Mojo, think Mojo, ride Mojo.
Cabronzky. Love this Ibis Mojo Review thread. Now I can be prejudiced about Ibis Mojo without fear of going overboard. Hehehe.
Like this morning I took Ibis out for 15.43 kms spin around the village. While doing so, the following entered my mind and were experienced:
1. Oh how smooth Mojo rides. Is this the much vaunted carbony ride feel 'they are all talking about?' Minimal vibrations. Or the lack of it. Like cotton, I was gliding on air while doing rounds of village's roads.
2. Last I weighed my Mojo, it registered 23.74 lbs. But I was not using Bike Town Cyclery's (BCT) scale. Over at BTC, mine read 24.04 lbs. I changed tires kasi to 2.25 Schwalbe Nobby Nics which brought down weight tad bit.
3. Ok. At 23.74 lbs, does Mojo make the ride different compared to my silver hardtail Trekkie? Of course, it did. After touring Silver Trekkie for 5 weeks at Tokyo. Then I rode Mojo for the first time again after five weeks of being away, ride comparison is that of night is to day. Mojo just floats, accelerates faster, rolls smoother, more comfortable and plushier than silver Trekkie. Tuloy, it made me reflect "this must be the million dollar feeling?"
3. Whenever Ibis Mojo suspension works on tiniest of ripples generated on smooth smooth village road, I am talking of running over marbles (jolens) here versus basketballs imbedded on Rocky road trails, I can't help but be mahinhin (demure) and then grin from ear to ear. Bakit? It is nice to be riding on a fleetwood Cadillac kasi while biking around the village. Comfort Mojo offers suits my senior citizen status where lazyboys and golfcarts and walking cane and havana Primo cigars are the standard.
4. But don't let 23.74 lbs of my Mojo fool you. My backpack kasi weights some 30 ++ lbs at the rate I stash M16A2 assault weapon, .45 and 9mm pistols, hunting knife sharp enough to skin a deer, pepper spray, night stick, handcuffs, whistle, rosary, and bible for self-defense purposes. No. I don't include hand grenade anymore.
...to be continued tomorrow

So I won't be surprised if I see you on the trails using your standard-issue camo-cloth covered, bullet-dinged, blood-stained combat helmet, ha? Off to battle we go, day after day!!!

Am back today. Noontime.
And how well Ibis Mojo climbs. From day number one I got Mojo, climbing steepness didn't unfaze me anymore. Rather, climbing summits became pleasurable with Mojo. All I have to do is stay seated-center on my saddle, keep a steady 'left..right...lefty...right...leyo'... cadence in my mind that my pedalling follows, up...Up...UP I go. Before long I reached highest peaks and became ultimate conqueror.
In mountainbiking parlance, what goes up, must go down. For every punishment (uphilling), comes ample reward (downhilling). Downhilling like an Pro is where Mojo caught me off guard. Whereas before I do downhilled tagaytay ridges using Trek Fuel 80 for whatever was its capabilities and limits unlike a real DH 40 pounds rig, now I am left with no choice but to bomb downhill with more confidence because Mojo makes downhilling look so natural and easy (piece of cake).
Really? DH is piece of cake?
"It is the Indian and not the arrow'... I recall grnhrnt quip. Somehow, when you reach 46 and above...in my case 60...you lose your dare, your flexibility. You become more conservative and wiser. In a nutshell, dalmatan ka na (you are a Dalmatian). Very qualities that are anti-thesis of our PinoyMTBiker downhill idols.
But my Mojo's Shimano XTR wheelset WH-M975 even with Schwalbe 2.25 Nobby Nic tires applied limits my downhilling to a fault. Mojo likes to push and go more aggressive. WH-M975 ain't strong enough to handle what Mojo craves to do -all mountain aggressive downhilling. Yes. XTR wheelset is lighter and rolls faster which is excellent for XC and climbing hills. But moment Mojo releases its downhill tendencies, tougher and burlier wheelsets are required.
My 2008 Fox 32 TALAS RLC 100-140 fork kinda handicaps Mojo's downhilling capabilities too when Fox TALAS 36 with 20 mm thru axle will be better choice for Mojo. My dos centimos.
Since I don't delude myself by joining ranks of our DH kings and queens, XTR WH-M975 wheelset and 2008 Fox Talas 32 RLC fork will do for my kind of senior citizen Mojo riding.
I get enough of what Mojo feeds moi in small doses.
