Congrats to Agu and the MH crew for a great race today!!!
Due to a prior commitment, me and my buddy endend up doing the trail run (Father's day and we both have sub 1 year old babies ;D). I ran conservatively (sprained ankle not yet 100%) and still had enough gas to finish the bike race if ever we decided to do both.
A lot of the runners didn't know what to expect in Maarat. I even heard a comment on the trail "wala bang flat dito?", complaining due to the mostly uphill run. I responded, "di uso ang flat dito". Even strong runners ran out of gas and eneded up walking the climbs of the last few kilometers. Good thing I'm familiar with the place due to my mtbing, so I know what to expect and slowly but surely motored up the climbs passing others. Too bad some passed me again downhill since I'm taking care of my ankle and was avoiding excessive pounding . I ran the last 5K was faster than the first 7 and sprinted to the finish although I was way behind the leaders . It was great fun! ;D
I met some PMTBers after the run. Took some pictures and went home to my baby. I hope they do it again next year. We already plan to make it into a picnic with me, 3 of my buddies and our wives and babies! Until next time!

So kaka! Kakaingit talaga. I was not able to come. My first fathers day celebration. Had to be back home before 9 am or else :-(
I had the same predicament. My first Father's Day with my angel. Besides that, my Dad will kill me if he didn't see the apo. So I had to contend with the trail run and then drove home as quickly as I can as soon after the bike race starts. Hopefully, me and my buddies can bring our kids along next year and turn it into a picnic. Then we can join both the run and the bike race. ;D
