tsk! that house near the falls ruined the scenery...there ought to be a law against that. I totally agree! causes sore eyes ! makes the scene forgettable ! When I have taken a photo of the falls when I went up Baguio (Thread: Baguio...Finally) I have actually difficulty taking the angle because of that house...I agree, it should not be there near the falls...

Congratulations to all the guys who made the manila-baguio epic ride! Wifi and jeremygo, your at the top of the totem pole! Sir NVP and all the nice halimaw guys of that killer ride, it was great making your acquaintance. If you plan to do that epic ride again, I'm sure it will be a much bigger group because you guys blazed the trail and showed everyone it could be done. I for one will come to Manila and start the trip with you. Joining you guys from Rosario now seem so puny an act as compared to what you have achieved! Manila-B.C. Part 2?

Aquifer-thanks for the kind words brad. Yes sir, just notify me if you are in the area. We will gladly ride with you and show you the San Fabian trails. Hope we ride together again, somewhere..somehow..
Alphabolt-Short as it was, we enjoyed the kennon ride tremendously since we were in the company of special like minded (trans: walang laman ang utak kundi mountain bike) people. Yes, that Andok late night dinner was memorable as we got to meet you and the great guys of PinoyMTBiker. We will surely see you soon.

Let s post our bike setups for this epic ride: my hybrid Truth changes 1. Maxxis Detonator 100psi 1.25 slicks at the rear 2. Tioga city slicker 65psi 1.25 slicks at front 3. used my Profile barends inside of the grips for "ala aero bar" comfort 4. used Velo ergo grips slipons..used slime to serve as adhesive since they were installed the night before the ride 5. increased the pressure of my rear and front suspension shocks by +20psi per 6. used an expandable saddle bag + triathlete toptube-headtube bag for all my carried stuff ...vs using a backpack 7. used a controltech water bottle with mouthpiece cover ...vs road sh*t 8. installed a push-only bell ..japan surplus...vs standard pull-let-go bells = faster honking 9. used my old 48-36-26 XT chainrings on my 08 XT cranks ...I thought this would be good ..it was good but for flat roads only not iinclines ...my bad ;D 10. used a 3-bulb LED headlamp ...coz its lighter and lasts >4x longer vs halogen types note: not posted here is my helmet sunshield "curtain" ;D ..three panel neck cover with vents ...you just tie this unto the helmet's lower vents. Had it made with a belt-loop at the lower part to prevent billowy effect and drag brad Arnel...I posted mine but I think was taken out by the mods...hehehe..or did you? joke lang po...

One of my bike buddy before i move here in pasig Yeah..Mang Rey of Baliwag, Bulacan..the most senior among the riders who went up Baguio. We climb together Kennon since his light bonked and went out of battery power. But boy, oh boy..this guy is truly one halimaw..he's one of those guys who pedaled from Baliwag all the way to Marivelez, Bataan to compete at the "Padyakan" last April..placed 3rd or 4th in his category with only about 3 hours of sleep the night before the competition... and pedaled back again to Baliwag from Bataan... ;D ;D ;D

Mang Rey is really halimaw. Rides to and from Laguna, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Aurora. You name it, he has probably done it. He went down Baguio with us and spent the night at my humble abode. It was nice talking to him. Learned all the crazy rides he does ALONE and sometimes with the group.

Hey Angelo...you went down that night right away pala..Victory? o you pedaled down again? ;D ;D ;D Nah, it would be too cold and very very dangerous to go down kennon during night time. We rented a Van for our journey back to Cabanatuan. We were planning to bring our own SAG but we decided to help save the environment so naki-SAG na lang kami ;D ;D ;D Thanks kuya Dante for the space in your SAG. Helped a lot during the climb up kennon

Helped a lot during the climb up kennon speaking of mang rey, thank you very much pala angelo for taking care of him...already texted mang rey and asked an apology...he was looking for me after the ride coz he has no place to stay. me and arnel did not proceed to oh my khan since i learned from wi-fi that it's already closed and they're also looking for some place to eat...and so me and arnel dined in the nearest one. after dinner i felt a sudden chill..i was shaking uncontrollably and couldn't even talk straight...i remained in that condition even after following arnel's advice to drink a mugful of hot water..my thanks also to arnel who did almost everything...dismantled my bike and placed it inside the car...i totally forgot about mang rey not until the following morning.

No biggi tolits, Mang Rey was a joy to be a guest. Iniwan ko lang sa sala then sabi ko bahala na sya sa buhay nya ;D ;D ;D . BTW you suffered the first signs of hypothermia (spell check) din pala. Actually, sa view deck where I stopped to wait for the group, I was suffering na din. When wifi and plankton_D got there, I was already slightly shivering. After a bit of rest, she then decided to proceed up to the arko na since the group was still at lions head. When we started riding again, I felt a bit of relief since the riding warmed me up again. Di lang yon, after stopping at the arko (near hospital), niyaya ko na si wifi sa Petron to have some coffee because the cold was starting to creep up again. Two cappuccinos did little to stop me from shivering. Nawala lang yung lamig nung nagpalit na ko ng damit.
