Can I "CLAIM" this an extreme ride? ? Riding through the streets and all the way up to Baguio may be simple to some people, but for me and these guys who showed us the way to do it, it's a feat of achievement that will be etched and and followed here in PinoyMTBiker. Idols!!! you paved the road for us,,literally! O ayan, partida babae pa yan si WIFI, meron ng bag sa likod at wala pang warmer.. Translation= Girl power

Im reposting here for posterity my Not-halimaw-pace: Left Monumento at about 5:30am (slight delay by the 1st group..good thing or else Rodel planktondash would have been left behind heheh ) Reached our first real stop (lunch!) after 190kms at Urdaneta at about 2:30pm! crazy crazy Reached Lions Head by 8:30pm Reach downtown Baguio 10:30pm 17 hrs total trip time less about 2 hours stop time that s 15 hours of actual saddle time The surprises: 1. No serious mechanical failure in the group...just 1 or 2 flats and 1 chain break 2. The plan for stops is not ideal pala...we should have stopped about 3 times (maybe Pampanga, Tarlac then pre-Kennon) <---this is the group's unfortunate realisation 3. The heat at Tarlac is "convection oven + vacuum cleaner + 36 degC" = where s the air?! ...the asphalt road was melting ! 4. The ride to Pampanga was not "flat" but with a gradual incline of +2-4 deg! It took the group almost 4 hrs to do the 1st 100kms! 5. my legs didnt cramp ...I expected to ..but wonders of wonders ...nada 6. ...I was praying during the ride! that scared me ! twas that tough for this rider... sob sob sniff sniff Not a surprise : sadly the group's pace exceeded 25kph on the flats ...one cyclo read 32kph . But its all good Thanks to all the riders who shared this wonderful experience with me! Thanks to the organizers! Special Thanks to the good samaritans = Jeser, John, Dr. Ray, Dr. Roy + ______ rider + + ! I want my baller ID pls, Noel. Make it say : "Manila to Baguio June 2008..................On a bike" and let me be proud of it! Mabuhay ang P M T B!

cant see the pix from where i am browsing. Congrats guys you too allan. Dream come true di ba? dream come true indeed. you should have joined us. i didnt tell you my visa was approved. my mind was set till La Union only then the ride before I had my wheelset checked it had "alog" so I had to change plans. Besides, I think joining you guys would have slowed down the group. Next time na lang if there's a Manila - Laoag ride you can all stay in our house Makoy, What octane rating does this XTC use. Nice pics pards!!!
