Best way is to format drive C: and reinstall the Operating System.
I hope you do your saving data in partition D:
Always make several partitions (I make 6 or 10 partitions) in your harddisk and install only the OS in drive C:
The other partitions can be segregated to sort them into important documents, games, photos, etc.

one of my friends told me he's having the same problem. pero without the bugs. this particular trojan replaces your desktop wallpaper with a blue screen that tells you your pc is infected.
i ran avg and trendmicro antiviruses pero wala.
still searching for a cure.

I have the same problem.. "AntiSpywareExpert or Master"? I also have this kind of adware/trojan in my PC right now. I already tried everything.. format, backup, etc. But after reformatting my hard drive and installing fresh copy of Windows XP Pro, dang! The trojan/adware is still alive. I'm using Norton Antivirus and it is always updated. Also I have AVG, but I noticed that AVG detects any kinds that relate to a virus (but not) such as keygen, patch, etc. or sometimes called a "crack". I changed my AVG settings, only scans the system every Tuesday at exactly 8pm to minimize from detecting viruses and spywares, which causes my system to slow down. And have you noticed, your surfing is limited? Webpage is refreshing itself automatically after successful loading? Hard time or sometimes cannot be able to access any sites like Yahoo! or even PinoyMTBiker forums But if your downloading your torrent file on uTorrent and pinging sites you may notice that your internet connection has no problem. That's what these viruses are doing on my PC everyday. Oops! Automatic Updates are disabled. Sometimes these viruses turn off your antivirus' auto-protection!

Hi P-jhay. just curious here, you still have the virus after re-formating your hard drive? did you get the virus back after restoring your back-up data or after a fresh re-format and installation of a new OS? The reason i asked is because i encountered a trojan that re-emerge after a fresh re-format and install of my OS way back. We eventually figured out that the d@mn thing loaded itself in my BIOS thats why i couldn't get rid of it by reformatting, clever little bugger. What i did was remove the battery of the BIOS chip to purge it. It was gone after that.

I think you should do repair offline. remove the internet connnection, reboot in safemode, If you have 2 drives installed then then troubleshoot one drive at a time.If you can find a way to disable a drive then do so...The problem might get worse if you have an active internet connection.I think Avg spyware can do it..you just have to perform removal of spywares and adware, malwares and virus on one drive first, remove the other drives cable if you can before rebooting..Or if you have a recent back up that youre sure clean then format and reinstall. The thing with these spywares and malwares and virus etc. they would copy itself to other drives even portable drives.and would protect one another..It happened to me..all the downloaded file are gone.. at least the problem too..

@ Sir knobbyist, Good idea! Removing the BIOS battery or maybe I can reset it to default before removing the battery then put it back again.. Haven't tried that yet for 12years in hardware troubleshooting.. Interesting, will try it later. Hope it works na! TFS! @ Ruel, Even I format my system, it is still connected to internet because of my router ;D forgot to unplugged it when reformatting and installing OS. TFS! PS: - Viruses can now pass through ZIP files. So, no luck in zipping it unless it is not an application.

Ate Julia, it happened to me 3/4 hours ago I think. I'm just surfing using Firefox then I opened IE to open my other account on Friendster. Then suddenly, I noticed my connection was unplugged itself (a notice appeared on my taskbar). I thought it was from our house power connection but not since I'm using good quality AVR and the light didn't blink. So, I checked my router and dsl modem. Restart it by turning off then turning on, but the problem persist. I did it two times. I closed my uTorrent, yahoo messenger and IE browser. Open run command, type ping yahoo.com but dang! it's still disconnected. So I closed all my opened programs including Firefox. Then, my connection suddenly get back to normal (yes, it's automatically reconnect because of the router). I guess I've found the bug. Tried it again, "abusing internet connection".. Oops! Got it na, it is the Firefox which causes my internet connection to disconnect itself. Maybe because of network traffic/collision or Firefox bugs.

Guys maybe you can try using deep freeze, a software that restores original configuration by restarting your computer, but make sure that your pc is 100% virus free before using this software.
My friend is also using deep freeze, all virus in his pc were gone after a reboot. He's using it for 6 months now and Im using it for 2.5 months already.
My anti-virus is Bitdefender, it frequently detects dialer and downloader virus even when im logging in to this forum......virus is everywhere now.

I'm back!
I reformatted my pc, put the backup harddrive inside the freezer ;D, reinstalled OS, antivirus and everything I need then put back all my backup files (from the freezer) to my secondary drive. I did what knobbyist told me to removed the CMOS battery and I also reset all motherboard configurations. Wow! Glad my system is running well again and back to normal condition.
Thanks for all the tips and support guys!!
Btw, Julia, if you're still having problems on your pc, try turning off your System Restore. I also did it after reinstalling my OS. Because those viruses can still go back after they were deleted by AVG or any other AV softwares/spywares.
That's all! ;D ;D
