I got Kenda tires for 150 each.. Kenda nga ba talaga? I dunno if this is a fake. Anyway the tire has no name around it but the pattern is like Kenda Komfort. Fake? Or the Tindera just made a mistake.

Most likely it's not the real thing brad. funny but the thread on that tire of yours is similar to the (my) Specialized Hemisphere's (1.95 semi-slick for touring mainly) i don't think it'll do well in off road conditions or at least prevent you from going beyond simple hardpack trails

"pares pares" as they say

Although the LBS owner ( the most knowledgable in their store ) told me it would do well in muddy trails. I just remembered he is a roadie ;D According to the website it is for street and light trails. I better get myself another set for trails... any recommendations?

I better get myself another set for trails... any recommendations? if you don't mind cool, what bike shop did you buy this from? at times kasi, in most small, hole-in-the-wall bike shops, even the "most knowledgeable" staff can really be ignorant or clueless when it comes to some branded MTB stuff. That, or they might be pulling a "fast one" on you. well, at least from my experience. for trails? hmm i think the cheapest and most versatile for regular XC are Specialized OEM tires like Adrenaline, Fast Trak, Roll-X. I think they're all available at king's for less than P500/pair (which is the price of a single unit for some brands, or more) I don't see much Maxxis 2.1s anymore although i think there's last pair of folding High Roller 2.1s (ridiculously light!) at King's the last time i've been there. mura lang yun malamang

Thanks for the advice Mervs, anyway I'll probably go to King's one of these days and buy a pair.
BTW if I have 2 sets of tires, one for road and another for trails- do I need 2 wheelsets? or I should just change the tires? I'm thinking if there is a possiblity of disforming the tires due to constant changing.

cool, you gotta have 2 wheelsets, not 1 wheelset and 2 tires. that is way too tiring to do, literally. if your gear can last, lucky you. just switching between wheelsets is cumbersome, think about changing tires and then putting it back on your bike. just my 2 centavos based from experience. you can try it though, hehehe.

get another wheelset dude. aside from the hassle of changing tires (pumping air palang, dios mio), you'll scratch your rims from the constant use of tire levers, and probably pinch some tubes pa.

HOOKWORMSas stated in maxxis.com website: The original urban assault tire, designed to take the abuses of the most aggressive street riders. Huge air volume softens the drops, while the inverted tread design makes rolling resistance minimal. Bead-to-bead tread provides durability and traction whether you're dropping staircases, grinding rails, or riding in your local skatepark. based on my experience: no to muddy trail and grass area. less traction in wet soil & grass. purely urban tires. reliability in curb roads: 100% tractionease of pedal: not heavy

any reviews on kenda tires like their kinetics.... how much kaya? i wonder why some LBS doesn't sell tires front-rear pairing.... lagi na lang rear-rear or front-front pairings... tnx ;D i know what you mean..I've seen quite a few like that so what I would do id buy one from one shop and but the other pair at the other so I would come up with a front and rear specific tire combo.. Bssed on my experience Kenda's are great, imho avoid the Stick-E series unless you plan to go DH..for street/trail use stick with the original compoud.. My Kinetics lasted for about a year for me..pretty long time for my riding style ;D

Just to share to you guys.. if you plan to go on to long asphalt rides avoid KENDA' Stick-E series and Maxxis' Super Tacky..These tires w.such compunds feels like sponges on the road..but they are great in DH and trail riding though ;D Just my .02

Yes, I would suggest you get another pair of wheelset sir Cool, and Yes tires get deformed due to constant installation and removal.. Had the same problem before..switched tires so frequently when I had a favorite bike I ended up with eight (8) pieces of wheel sets ;D

HOLY ROLLER 26 X 2.30 according to internet: Proven in the hardpack and pavement of the BMX world, the Holy Roller is now available in 24” and 26”. The Holy Roller urban assault tire is the perfect weapon for riders like Aaron Chase and Jeff Lenosky who may be dirt jumping today, but shredding on the streets of Gotham City tomorrow. Features & Benefits Inverted semi-knob design. Lightweight single ply casing. Urban assault/dirt jump tire. on my opinion: all are true in maxxis.com
