I would highly appreciate your comment about this product. Thank you. Heres a link: nikeplus.nike.com/nikeplus/?sitesrc=uslanding

The Ipod version has some variance in distance compared to GPS devices or actual race distances.
This is a new spinoff of the Nike+ thingie. I haven't seen one yet locally. I was contemplating on getting the Ipod version and saw this too.
Problem is it's not waterproof so an occassional shower or lots of sweat will be an issue. Maybe wait for an updated version.
Alternative is the Suunto Training series watch although it costs an arm and a leg. It already comes with the heart rate monitor strap. Options are the Footpod (pedometer), GPS pod and Bikepod (woohoo!).

The T6 is only $290 compared to 34k++ here.

I was considering that. I just have to put on hold my bike upgradatitis to do this hmm...
Another thing to consider about getting any Nike+ product is that it limits your choice of shoes to Nike+ specific shoes which is generally more expensive. I always wait for New Balance and Adidas to go on sale.

there are pouches you can buy to help you use the Nike pods with any shoe. It attaches just on top of the shoe straps (same way the Suunto pod works).

Shoe wallets right? Hmmm, I hope it works as well. Hi Marvs I use one of those plastic cases (forgot the name!) that secures itself to the laces of your non-Nike+ shoes. So far I've had no problems with it. Personally, I think the Nike+ kit is a great tool for casual runners - and the way it interfaces with your nano sure helps the miles go by. Aside from the Suunto T6, there are more capable watches/HRMs out there - but as you said, the cost means you have to curb your upgraditis hehe We've been bugging Nike+ since April to lend us a Sportsband for a feature, but I think the local launch date has been delayed.

Thanks Agu!
Nike+ Sportsband is now available at Nike Bonifacio High Street at Php3,290. Pretty reasonable. They also have the shoe wallet at around Php500 I think. Tempting...

I used the Nike + Ipod and it works well for occasional runners like me. Watch out for the battery though, it is not replaceable (the shoe component).
Maybe you can check on the Nike product as well if the batteries are replaceable.

Nike shoe wallet at Subic is P300. Enough for car keys and the transmitter.

Quoted from Support.Apple.com "The Nike + iPod Sport Kit includes the Nike + iPod Receiver and the Nike + iPod Sensor. The sensor contains a non-replaceable battery. The sensor’s battery has a life of more than 1000 active hours. The sensor has a sophisticated built-in power management system which means that the sensor really only consumes power when active (that is, when it senses motion)."That means when the battery of the sensor dies, you'd have to buy a new sensor. I haven't seen it being sold as sensor only locally. Most will end up buying the entire kit again. Nike + Ipod version - I think costs Php1700+ Nike + Sportsband - Php3290 The sensor can be bought online at at $19 with $4 shipping and have somebody ship it here from the US: store.apple.com/us/product/MA368LL/A?fnode=home/shop_ipod/ipod_accessories/extras&mco=MTcwMzEUnfortunately total cost will be almost like buying a new Nike+ Ipod kit locally. Now time for me to look for an Ipod Nano. The sportsband looks like it's not as worth it.

at 1,000 active hours, assuming roughly 5 hours of running per week, it will still last you around 3-4 years. I think it will be worth it if you do not want to shell out for an Ipod (around 8-10k). And besides, even if you get the Ipod version, the sensor will still run out on that one at the same time so you'll have to replace it again after 4 years. so you're replacement cost will be the same either way. Unless you really want an Ipod Nano (I want the iPod Touch! , I think the Sportsband would be a good compromise

Just looking for an excuse to buy a Nano. Ü
Well, just don't forget to turn off the Sensor.
Btw, another advantage of the Ipod version is the programmed workouts. Any which way, Nike+ is still a bang for buck training tool. Just keep on running (when you can't ride of course) Ü
