@ gavinchie IMHO dont you think the soaking overnight in water will damage the plastice/rubber elastomer? also, some lubes contain oils/alcohols that can damage it as well - (unless it is recommended in the manual) -- as with most plastic/rubber products they recommend to clean with water and a rag (sometimes with mild soap) btw, i don't have a thuddy yet but will get one soon! - anyone selling or willing to donate haha! max, i'll buy yours nalang! G, Thanks for the concern dude. But been doing that since I bought mine more than two years ago--the soaking thing that is. With regards to the lubrication, I just put a very minute amount of about 2 drops on each of the contact surfaces. In fact, no excess amount oozes out when I start using them. The oil that I use is the Singer brand. The one they use for sewing machines. Been doing that naman way past a year already. Concerning the manual G, there's no instruction/s either related to maintainance thus I made up my own. Yun nga lang, di ko alam kung tama but they work for me so far. Congratulations din G for making the first step of choosing the TD. Next is acquiring one. You won't be sorry. It's a very excellent buy. Kulitin mo lang si MaxB. ;D

What the... another elastomer!!??
How long did it last? Maybe you got the preload too tight? I'm 175 lbs and use blue-blue elastomers. They seem good as new pa after 6 months (bi-weekly rides). At least, I hope they're really ok pa. I've never soaked them. I just lube or grease the elastomer's contact points. I use silicon grease instead of oil though.
Take a look also at teh lube or grease u use, or the bike wash, or your brake fluid. Maybe they corrode the elastomer. (Just guessing here.)
Anyway, Cane Creek should send another free pair. These things are prob. defective.

The jumps, sometimes land on the saddle without noticing it (but very unlikely) Expired wornout elastomer. Velocity sold me a secondhand Thudbuster? ARGH!!!
