Hey guys !
Why don't you share your tire info. This would be a great help to all riders ... so we don't buy those expensive tires that just don't work well in our trails.

CONTINENTAL TRAVELMASTER 1.75 X 26
Pros: Nice slicks for road rides, low rolling resistance
Cons: Not that light.
Judgement: Good for fatboy types. Did not really use them long since I soon got addicted to "soil"
HUTCHINSON MOSQUITO LITE 1.95 x 26
Pros: Really light tires, nice decals and looks expensive but really affordable at 600/pc.
Cons: but they are very slippery specially on wet road.
Judgement: Did not really wait to use them in mud, almost killed me when it suddenly lost grip while spinning in the Velodrome in QC. I don't really recommend them.
KENDA KLAW (FRONT & REAR specific) 2.0 x 26
Pros: Great all around tires for gravel and mud. Did not give me any problems and they are cheap. Great traction. Very flat resistant. Cheap at 300/pc.
Cons: They are HEAVY at around a 800-900gms per tire, that's almost 2 kilos for both. They can actually stand on their own without air.
Judgement : Recommended for first time trail riders on a tight budget. And if you are really strong, you can actually handle the extra weight.
MICHELIN WILDGRIPPER 1.95 x 26
Pros: Great all around tires for gravel and dry conditions. Very low rolling resistance, feels like it were slick on the road. Very grippy when new. Very light at 380 gms per tire. Acceptable price at 600/pc.
Cons: They are very thin and easily pinch-flat when low pressure. Slippery after surface is worn by at least 500 kms or 3 months.
Judgement : Recommended for weight weenies that can afford to replace them when they start to give out. But I don't recommend them for technical and muddy terrain, they loose traction easily under these conditions.

good idea!
(i have limited experience with tires as i own only 2 kinds)
MICHELIN WILD GRIPPER 1.95 X 26 Pros - light, good traction overall, decent traction on uphill trail climbs; affordable price; roll resistance vs. my 2.3 Kendas, very low; will roll in 3-4" mud if you pedal hard enough and you can keep your balance
Cons - slips on wet pavement, even when new; you'll feel the bumps on fast rides downhill, maybe b/c of the relatively hard compound and low air volume.
Recommendation - good, durable tire that will give acceptable traction on most rides, on & off road, just watch your air pressure
KENDA KINETICS 2.3 X 26 Pros - burly, heavy & grippy tire that can take abuse; have never slipped on these tires, on or off road, wet or dry; durable and affordably priced; cushy feel on road.
Cons - heavy, high rolling resistance but when you get used to it, ok lang...but makes you wish you had lighter tires
Recommendation/other comments: i'll trust these tires both on and off road but still have to subject them to real stress

Huthchinson Mosquito Air light wire bead, uni directiona 26x2.0 Ive run these tires around 300km and its worn out already(but i like drifting while riding:)), it came with the bike so i dont really know the price. Kinda slippery on wet road. Ive tried it on trails(rear only) and I think it has good mud clearing design. Maxxis Larsen TT P480 (both front and rear use)26x1.9 Panaracer smoke P600 (Exclusive for rear)26x1.9 Both kevlar Dont use them on tarmac or roads. Sayang pera, ubos kaagad ang thread pattern:)Havent tried it on trails though. But the smoke always gets a good feedback on trails

RITCHEY Z-MAX MILLENNIUM 26x1.9 -steel bead version -500+ grams, somewhat heavy -low rolling resistance -doesn't hum on pavement -good grip for all-around dry conditions -I have yet to test its mud performance/clearance -will still work reasonably well in sand, can't expect much from a 1.9 tire -very cheap, only PhP 250 per tire
KENDA KROSS PLUS 26x1.95 -steel bead -heavy -semi-slick w/ shoulder knobs -very low rolling resistance -noiseless on pavement -great on pavement, sucks on dirt (of course) but still OK on hardpack -useless on sand -VERY puncture resistant, never had a flat with these -very cheap, only 200 per tire

Panaracer Fire XC pro( (tube and Tubeless)
Pro: -Excellent for loose dirt, switchback, cornering and rocky sections. -Climb like a goat. - Good rolling resistance
Cons: My first pair of UST tires was punctured both when I hit a rocky section and walked almost two miles. The second pair so far is excellent. -Tubeless lost air 2 to 3 psi in three days. -Very slick in wet rocky section.
I love this tires though.. since we doesn't have lots of rain and mostly lost dirt the tire is perpectly fit.
IRC SERAC (tubeless)
Pros: -Excellent traction, rolling resistance, ligther than most of tubeless tires. -Holds air very well. - Great for muddy and wet conditions.
Cons: -A little hard to mount. -wear fast.

Nano Raptor WTB: 26 x 2.00 The Goods: Lite, strong, cheap, can be used on / off road, pure rubber can be used in floods, rivers, and good resistance in heat.
The bads: fitting on rims should be perfectly set or else...poor grippings on sand.
Judgement: Kung ikaw ay mahilig mag-bike not for competition, just biking around, this is the tire for you.

Hey Guys!
I found myself my new FAVORITE tires:
CONTINENTAL EXPLORER 2.1
Pros: Great all around tires, wet or dry. Very low rolling resistance, (a bit more resistance than michelins). Although not as light as michelins at 480gms they are whole lot tougher. Rode them through muds of maarat and rocks of wawa and they hold out very well ... no flats yet! The 2.1 carcass really floats over almost anything. Acceptable price at 560/pc.
Cons: Not much yet.
Judgement : Recommended for all around trailers. If you want only one trire to own for trailing and a bit of racing ... this is it!

Go Go kenda kinetics Mura na pang isports pa!
Kenda kinatics 26 x 2.6 PROS: Cheap, No slip, medium weight. CONS: Nde sya foldable, hmm ano pa? wala pa bad experience so far
TIP: Dont fit the KENDA 2.6 on a GTS M series, magkaka rolleta ka sa pag bank. Studs on the side hits the frame which creates friction pag bank, go for the 2.3 or 2.4 perfect fit.

HUTCHINSON PYTHON UST TUBELESS 26 X 2.0
Rolls well. Great on hardpack. Seems bad on anything muddy, wet or loss.
VREDESTEIN K-NOBS KEVLAR 26 x 2.1
Good for climbing and excellent in cornering. Not so good with rolling resistance.

Anyone used a Geax Evolution? Planning to replace Elai's tires with this, seems it got a good review, I'm not sure if its available locally. She rode Makati-Tagaytay and back with her Nokian Gazzaloddi Dual 2.3, just try imagine riding those beast on the road. Recommneded also bernie's Nanoraptor, in case she cant find the Geax.

Tubeless trouble!
I went trailriding with my tubeless tires for the second time yesterday and see what i got? a 1/4" inch cut. I tried to fixed it with some tubeless patch kit but cant seal the leak. One more thing, i cant reinflate it using my floor pump. Its a pain!
Verdict will be tomorrow, lbs need to see if its covered by warranty, worse case scenario- i have to buy a new tire. hayyyyy...

Hi Dadjzilla! I think you would need to invest in a co2 cartridge and pump for your tubeless tires. The high pressure of the co2 will seat in the tire - what you're hand pump has failed to do.
Also, you can still run your shredded tubeless by using an interior - defeats the whole purpose but at least you'll still get some mileage on the tire.

Maxxis Larsen Oriflamme 2.0 PROs: - semi-slicks looking with nice side lugs - fat and robust like a 2.2 - light-weight - looks good - rolls really fast (parang faster than my high-rollers) - P350 bucks in Cartimar; la pa ko nakikita Quiapo - doesn't come in super tacky, slow reezay or maxx pro compunds i think (o baka luma lang yung nabili ko) - oh, and did i mention really fast?
CONs: - not grippy on sand and looser gravel - doesn't corner too well
Maxxis MoFo DH 2.3 Maxxpro compound
PROs: - tracks, grips and corners really well - looks good, nice knobs (hate the orange stripe though) - really beefy and burly - rolls fast - P 350 in Quiapo
CONs: - heavy man - front specific - the orange stripes (although baka trip nyo yun)
Maxxis Instinct 2.1
PROs - uh, kinda fast - looks good if you don't know na Maxxis sya - weighs pretty ok
CONs: - haven't seen any net reviews yet - not in maxxis's catalogue - doesn't have the big yellow maxxis name (if that's a big deal to ya) - doesn't have much character IMHO - not too beefy looking
Maxxis TT Larsen 2.3 for free-ride/Biker x, Slow reezay
PROs: - looks da*n good - light-weight - nice tread pattern - Brian Lopes won a 4 x 4 using this tire - grips and tracks really well - uh, Steve Larsen designed it? - P350-480 in Quiapo (cheapest in Cycle Art ata) - works as a good front tire for me at least
CONs: - not good as a rear tire (dahil slow reezay siguro) - my bike felt so da*n heavy and slow using this as a rear tire (now i use the oriflammes and am flaming man! ;D)

Warlock, tubeless tires need to be seated at high pressure...kailangan biglaan yung pressure na ito. That's what I've read, but haven't really tried any tubeless systems yet, he-he. No wonder, I read somewhere that in place of compressor, they inflate their regular tire/tube setup using a floorpump, pumped it up to 60psi then connect the it to the uninflated tubeless tire...once the bead is seated, they continue pumping to desired pressure using the floor pump. Crude but hey it beats buying a compressor or hauling your wheels to the nearest vulcanizing shop ;D

Dadj... sorry what happen man. It happen to be more than a year ago. I posted in this site (I couldn't remember where). Patch will not worked. As soon as you remove from the rim it is impossible to mount back using regular hand pump. Here is the solution: Carry super glue and CO2. This is better than patch kit. The Super glue will seal the cut or puncture in minutes and use hand pump to put air back. Co2 is just for emergency in case you need to dismount the tire from the rim. Actually you do not need to remove from the rim unless you really need too.

Even the LBS tried 3x before they can inflate it and thats after they wet the rim's bead. One technique they said is to inflate to max psi and leave it for 10 mins then set to desired pressure.
Good thing about tubeless is that no pinch flat. I put 60psi yesterday with 1/4" cut i still have good 40psi today, and thats a good thing, bad thing ineed to buy a new one.

Man... thats darn expensive. Boyok, I read in MTBR you can make yourself a home-made sealants like Stan's. See link: forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=4032, Then another tricky part is mounting this puppies..I guess you have to check out the forum also how they mount em. Here's another version from weigh weenies forum: weightweenies.starbike.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1260 Be sure to check out all 3 pages, this has a pics on how he made it.
