I hope our Head Turner - DJPapi will jump in this thread to answer all questions on the TURNERs. As for those inquiring about this awesome bike, post your questions here.
This is one of the most talked-about issue in the MTBR.Com & also in Magazines. I guess since we're living here in the Philippines, I would like to hear a review from my 'Kababayans" who is using the brand.
Thanks & Ride Safe!
Really Nice Bikes. . .
I'm sure there are more qualified riders out there to give their reviews based on experience so I'll post my review based on MY personal experience, particularly on the 5.5 Spot TNT version.
There are just way too many comments and biases on the perfect system but there can only be one perfect system for you. Let me try to address some pertinent angles on the matter:
1. Pedaling efficiency - this is more of a rider function. If your power output is significantly different on one foot, you will feel awkward; whether fs or ht! As for me, I find my Spot takes care of all my needs without much power loss / bobbing
2. Brake Jack - I've tried different suspension types and the only difference I can notice is when applying the brakes on turns and bumpy sections or both. Other systems threw me off the saddle by literally skipping through a section while the TNT SEEMS to squat, thus keeping traction and control. Personally, that is active suspension for me. The rear squats but doesn't cease to function as it obviously dampens the bumps. I could still feel the difference between the small bumps and the larger bumps so this one blew me away.
3. Agility - no questions here. The bike has more power than me. It's quick to accelerate from switchbacks and seems to turn well with the course. I often found myself struggling with other bikes when it comes to quick turns but the Turners... well, they TURN!
I haven't reached a performance level that requires much more from bikes so let's just wait for the pros to provide their input. Hope this sheds some light.
Just a question on TURNER User's. How is the new TNT Model compare to the Classic & Famous Horst Link?
