Hey Guys! Thanks to all your appreciation,,,, But that is really a very small thing(Charlie) Im not that person who gave Mang Boy a bike. I was reluctant to write it down but felt obligated after judging Charlie's crib and saw myself in him when I was struggling building my bike. I hope it will spread to everyone.
There are lot's of unnoticed deeds in and out of our circle, the likes of riders organizing newbie rides, helping those with mech, problems, giving away parts lying around the house and most of all, getting them back to cycling. Urging them to go to a healthy lifetsyle again.
Nothing can match the feeling when you're helping someone. My Grandmother-in-law timed her holiday with my vacation, and with her old age plus the trip from America put a toll on her body. She was bedridden. Rheumatism and all. My 10 year old daughter stayed by her bedside each night so she can help her up, lead her to the toilet. Granny said that she talked in her sleep and said" Lola here hold my hands" She always made it a point to sleep beside me and my wife. But during the stay of her Granny, she was with them all through my holiday. Till my last night when she asked me if it's ok to stay even if it is my last night, in her granny's room coz she needs her much more than I do. I was so happy with every words she said.
I have missed some rides just so I am in the house together with the Grannies, been driving and pushing wheelchair, But the hugs and kisses I received from them are priceless. They said that it is worth all the trouble and pain to time their holiday with mine.
"last Friday Roberto Boy Querimit lost his bike in their residence a vault cutter was used in stealing his bike nobody notice what happened. Mang boy was not around because he is working as a part time driver. To those who dont know him he is a Asian games medalist and a hall of famer but the government neglected him, promises made to him never came. He said to me that his bike kahit bakal bakal ang tanging nagpapalakas nalang sa kanya so he is really disappointed on what happened. everybody in MOA knows him as a strong rider at 57 he always finish in top 3. I wanted to help him so that his cycling will not be stopped I ask friends to donate their old parts. people donated parts to him because they now that mang boy is a very good person. Yesterday I called a friend who is a businessman and a recreational cyclist I ask him if he can give mang boy frame and fork kahit yung mumurahin lang he told me lets talk tomorrow. early this morning we met at the winner take all in macapagal he saw Boy querimit finishing 4th using a borrowed bike he is amazed on what he saw he called me and Mang boy to join him we ask where will we go? quiapo! when we reach the bike shop he showed us a frame and fork. I thought he will only donate frame and fork then he talked to the owner of the shop he called me and mang Boy he told Mang Boy regalo ko sayo ito mamili kana kung anu gus2 mo pyesa! ( my gift to you choose what parts will you put in it) he chose new sora and r550 wheelset and he asked my friend pede po ba ito my frend replied anything you choose will be ok to me. I saw the tears came out of mang Boys eyes he told me sa buong buhay ko di pa ko nagkaruon ng bike na aabot ng P20t. mga friends up to now pala there is still a good samaritan. My friend wanted to remain unanimous and said never tell anybody that the bike came from him! He said money is not important he is very happy because he made mang boy very happy. My friend thank you very much for bringing back Mang Boys passion. God bless you! Mang Boy thank me I told him you are a very good person you deserve this. Sana po meron pang tulad ng friend ko na tutulung sa ibang cyclist na nagbigay ng karangalan sa ating bansa para naman po sumaya uli sila. Maraming Salamat po!"
