Hi, I don't get to watch a lot of TV, so I'm not aware if this is an old ad. Basically, the commercial starts out with "TV Host/Triathlete" Drew Arellano riding a bike in some studio somewhere which serves as his "trail". ;D WITHOUT a helmet! The rest has no importance, but I think it is a Rejoice ad for anti dandruff. My point is, I'm sure this is not the first time that someone is portrayed in the media as bike riding without a helmet. When people see this on TV, some might assume it's OK, which we all know its not! As I always say you'll only appreciate the helmet when you need it, by then it'll be too late!!! I think there should be standards about how bikers are portrayed in the media, like they have for alcohol and tobacco. Don't ya think?

I agree with you sir jeremy. When the first time i saw that ad, I'd come to think that what if Drew Arellano crashed, head first? Or just don't buy that product cause it doesn't portray good among our fellow bikers, especially on our children and the other kids. What i love is the moddess comercial, the riders there wears helmet and moddess and it make her fast, really fast to the fact that she over power the guy and came first at the top. Hmmm... I think we should use moddess when riding? hehehe

If you notice in that napkin commercial, they used two bikes there. A full sus'er was used for the jump scene. While an HT was used for the rest of the scenes. Correct me if I'm wrong.
As with Drew's commercial, it's the phoniest ad I've seen so far. A triathlete using an MTB (a mall bike at that), without a helmet and wearing jeans are dead giveaways! May the god of biking forgive the people who thought of the commercial for they DO NOT know what they're doing!!! olats pa siya ni Vhong Navarro!

I agree with you sir jeremy... Psst... I'm not a sir, that's my dad. Jeremy will do. hehe. I saw another ad na walang helmet. Flanax yata. I guess this just shows how popular biking is now, which is why it is even more important to portray it properly, else more people will get hurt.

Perhaps the reason helmets are left out during commercials is that the director of the ad probably feels that a helmet 'ruins the look' of the involved model/s? After all, a tv ad runs on a lot of aesthetics... and not a lot of common sense. Quite depressing really.
Translation: ay nako, ditseng kuratsa, tanggalin ang nakapatong na pagong na iyan sa models natin! Sayang ang hairdo nila...
Jeremygo is definitely right about certain responsibilities that companies must fulfill before they go out and have another irritating commercial made.

or have we entered the AGE OF "IRRESPONSIBILITY" ? come to think of it. people nowadays just seems to do anything and everything without taking responsibility for their action, they always look for people or situations to be blamed, everybody is to be blamed except themselves. to even think of the tri-media being this irresponsible 20-30 years ago is blasphemous

I'm sure he is a very nice guy.
Its very gratifying to hear that he is responsible enough to wear a helmet off-cam. I just hope that he realizes that by being on TV he is a role model and perhaps he is sending the wrong message.
Di nga as Spiderman says "with great power comes great responsibility"
That being said, it's probably not his fault, most likely the agency or company doesn't know better.
