hahaha! good if you've been mistaken to escape from the hospital... (buti dehins sa mental!) hehehe
yeah... i will wear it everytime.... especially here in the Philippines... sometimes when people get into an accident, looters take away your wallet and other valuables... it would only be your ID if that happens...

OT lang: i read somewhere that it can be quite dangerous to wear your livestrong bracelets, coz apparently a yellow tag daw in the hostspital means 'do not resuscitate,'. is this true?

Hi people,
you can try bag tags. 3pcs for Php100 at sm malls. I have mine already. Size is 1" X 2" with various design but may not be good as bracelet style.
thanks.

Tags as very useful indeed
It was actually because of emergencies that I came up with a celphone content concept that could address the need for emergency infos.
Its called NOK (Next of Kin) ..just dial the letter buttons N O K on your phone and the provider will: sms your NOK, sms to him andyou your medical background, allergies etc
the content concept has been submitted to Globe, Smart and Sun.
subscription or free service...doesnt matter as long as it works and saves a few lives..Im happy

I think it's still better to have some sort of basic ID with you. The NOK concept is nice and hi-tech but it's dependent on 1.) always bringing your cellphone during rides (which most of us don't do given the harsh conditions of most rides 2.) your cellphone is still working after your accident 3.) there's actually a signal in the area

Arci, It s inputted through mobile or the website (to be assigned by content provider) Marcs, yeah ...the service was designed for mobilephone-carrying folks But the service has more capability and capacity vs tags...like bring your whole medical chart to the scene But who says we cant use the two concepts at the same time

what I suggest is to have the information stored somewhere such that the person only needs to carry on him and access code or something. this way, the system is not dependent solely on the rider's cellphone. anyone with a cellphone can check this access code on him, then send the SOS number via cellphone which will initiate all emergency features (inform Next of Kin, medical info, heck even determine approximate location via cellsite trinagulation etc). now that would be cool.

ordered one at MAGAT Military Supply in Fort Bonifacio. I had my name, sss number and birthdate place on it (emergency numbers might change eh, i prefer it to be for emergency identification purposes) the US made ("dehins po kinakalawang") costed 350 and has this black rubber on its edges.. the ordinary one (local i suppose) costed 250.. it has max of 5 lines and you could put in 12 characters per line you have to wait for 2-3wks pa. I deposited 200php na with them. i asked the lady na nandun how much if wholesale, sabi ganun pa rin daw.. 844-44-35 ang number.. maybe bruce could work his magic on this...

Yes! we really need this tag. For the meantime, we can have it on our own, until the time that PinoyMTBiker decides on how to have our "unique PinoyMTBiker tags". Go! go! Go!

why don't somebody initiate and contact magat military supply re:post of mam feline, and check if they can entertain mass order and have the rubber lined tag be etched? like this one (in picture). and from there we can organize a dogtag ID ordering system. if its a five liner what do we print? 1. name 2 & 3. address 4. landline phone and handphone / name of contact person 5. important health history (i.e allergy/lver problem, etc) & blood type let's do it! let's just design it to be laser etched like this

@pazigrider, thanks for the info brad.
if it's a five liner (sample of ma'am feline)what do we print?, do we all agree on having the 5 lines printed as follows:
1. name 2 & 3. address 4. landline phone and handphone / name of contact person 5. important health history (i.e allergy/liver problem, etc) & blood type
can the dogtag accomodate these printed info?
anyways, let's start the list and see where we go from here
1. arci 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.

can the dogtag accomodate these printed info? it has max of 5 lines and you could put in 12 characters per line its up to you how you'd fit the info in 12 characters (inclusive of space) mine's got 4 lines lang (as i might change address and contact numbers and i want it to be a permanent thing na) 1. last name, first name's initial midname's initial 2. sss number (as they could identify me in case of whatever via this info) 3. birthdate (numerical) 4. makati, phil (general location lang) *i would like to put in my blood type but i'm not so sure about it.. i guess, they could just test it if in case there is a need for it. ~~ i was supposed to get it last August 20 pa but i called them up and they extended it till the weekend as nasira daw ung machine when they were about to do my tag... d@mn... excited pa naman ako.

(delivery 1 or 2 weeks daw) their payment terms: 50% downpayment upon order and 50% on delivery yeah.. they accept bulk order.. but no discount.. better that those who sign up organize a ride meet-up at jolibee the fort... then pay their 50% and put in their info.. then come back again as a group... and pay the other 50% once the orders are already there.... at least they get to put in what they really like and less hassle sa lahat.. ;D
