Nice one. Now you need more bike racks inside the campus, especially the dorms, different colleges, shopping center, admin buildings. I know you have figured these out already, good luck. Inexpensive helmets should be made available for sale next. Maybe a bike clinic also on basic road safety and courtesy? Oh, don't forget the road signs and reminders to motorists to share the road with cyclists (everyday, not only weekends).

The UP Mountaineers has fine arts grads who are designing the bike racks for the different academic destinations. That's going to be our next exciting post. Kakaibang bike racks.

The UP Academic Oval will now become one way, counterclockwise. The inner lane is now a dedicated for bikers and pedestrians.
The Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs has asked the UPMontaineers to be part of the launching of the new one way acad oval scheme.
The convoy will be on April 2, Wednesday at 9AM. We will be running the 6 padyak bikes that we have but we need support from anyone with bicycles to be part of this event. So can we ask support from PinoyMTBiker. If any PinoyMTBiker riders are free on the morning of APRIL 2 please join us.

This morning the UP Mountaineers took part in the launching of the One Way Oval scheme of the academic oval. Since last March 28, the academic oval is one way counterclockwise to all motorized vehicles. The inner 1/3 of the oval is blocked off for bikes and pedestrians. The UP Mountaineers was invited to be part of the occasion by riding the bikes from the administration building to the NCTS. Also part of the program was a group from the Automotive Association of the Philippines (AAP) and Toyota Philippines. Toyota had a P2.5M Hybrid Prius. They also donated a lecture room inside the NCTS. What was interesting was we observed the Japanese Toyota expats looking at our bikes before the start of the program. We'll post photos by tomorrow. It was an excellent opportunity for media exposure too. ABS CBN was there to cover the event. Special thanks to the following: Boy and Beth Siojo, Ina Ocampo, Peter Sy, Dr. Peter Rivera, Kleng Cacacho, John Climaco, Norman Jaravata, Ninoy Leyran and the foldables, Macoy and his loud mouth, tatoo, etc., Wally Castro, Stephanie Tan (CSSP Council), and of course members of UP Mountaineers Batch 88 - Ging and Jojo Gutierrez, Louie Cruz and Sean Co See more photos at picasaweb.google.com/jojo.gutierrez/UPLaunchUPMPadyakVISIT OUR SITE AT www.padyak.org to learn more about the project img411.imageshack.us/img411/8522/itoangbikelanegh3.th.jpg[/img] img366.imageshack.us/my.php?image=itoangbikelane2uq2.jpg img367.imageshack.us/img367/4614/allsetpadyak3nr4.th.jpg[/img]
