Almost everybody here knows that i am biking to work most of the time and i park on a secured area here at the back of our office and i've been doin that since last year....... unfortunately SM MOA security noticed that i park my bike in SM vicinity for FREE and when i ask SM security way back on where should i park my bike that is safe..... they said here at the parking building...... then i asked "is it for free?"...... they simply replied P40 flat rate sir and i saw their bicycle they use for roaming i asked " how come you got your bike's parking for free? they just smiled....... i told them they're not treating us bike commuters fair..........
i just hope this little problem wil be addressed to proper authority coz i tried to approach one of the guards and asked politely where the head security office and they're just rude and dont give me straight answers........ onti na lang talaga at mananakit na ako......

hey Brionne ,I almost got the same experience as u do, but in SM San Lazaro, since its very near my place, me and my 4 yr old son always go there . One day on a my old skool Rockhopper, upon entering their parking bldg. I was stopped by a guard and said "no bikes allowed" they even told if I have to then I have to pay for Parking fee If not then I might as well park the bike at the "No Parking" Post. ...is the correct ....they are really getting into my nerves.. >:(They even have parking of Motorbikes but I think it was outside the premisses of SM. I told them "hey this is no ordinary bike its not a mall bike either and I'm of local of this area since birth thats why and I'm aware of those bikenappers".. and I get no answer from them..Anyways since I Dont want my son see me arguing we just left and bike around. In MOA well I guess SM administration should be aware that of large numbers of bikers there and should take into consideration their welfare and off course the securtiy of their bikes...hey we are also your customers. But in some SM Malls like SM Manila they have secured bikestands no fees to be payed and its just a meter away from the guard post. Isolated cases? well be the judged.

brad GBB!
Why don't you ask Dell instead to talk to SM. I think you will get better results that way.

bri.,
i would presume, you were trying to park your bike in the vicinity of Dell, and thus,
by virtue of the lease contract between SM and Dell:
1. weren't they (Dell) supposed to have right on certain portions of the properties they were renting from SM. 2. considering that you are a Dell employee, doesn't that right (of dell) apply to you? 3. on that note, Dell should identify and provide, or if not yet done, perhaps allocate certain portions of parking areas (assigned to Dell as part of the lease contract) for bike parking. 4. do you have a big community of commuter cyclists at dell? perhaps that community can petition Dell on this concerns for a free and secured bike parking area.
my .02
Good Luck!

gud day gbb,
we are working for the establishment of bike racks in MOA, since last year. Fortunately, one of the the newly installed city councilors, whom we talked to( councilor Grace Santos) , made us a promise that she will talk to the MOA administrator about setting up a bike racks and last week she informed us that they were at negotiating phase. will update you next week.

btw, our group, the Foxbat Cycling Club Inc., also made the proposals in establishing bike racks in the different establishments around the city, not only in MOA thru city council resolution since we are accredited Local Government Unit of the City Councils of Pasay.

i bike to work again earlier today goin to work and i do the usual route and routine in parking my bike (inside the trunk of a friend's car). i get to the parking bldg by carrying my bike goin up using stairs to 3rd floor............. This time a guard approached me and they said that bikes are not allowed "ANYMORE" to use the stairs and i have to go through the parking building ramp going to 3rd level parking. So i headed to the ramp and guess what.......the guard asked me to pay 40 freaking bucks before entering. I told them that i wont be paying the parking fee since im not going to park this in the motorcycle racks upstairs but instead im goin to use my friend's trunk and keep my bike there........... it took them 10mins to allow me coz they have to let their security OIC know on what's goin on. I told them that i'll be late if you wait for them to reply. i told them "sobra ang discrimination nyo sa nagbi-bike papuntang trabaho...." then the guard told me "Sir pasensya na, trabaho lang..." then i replied "Ano akala mo sa ginagawa ko, dehins trabaho? parehas tayong empleyado dito.. ako sa dell at kayo sa SM........" ginagawa ko ito every tuesday lang kasi coding ang sasakyan ko.......
it's just really inconvenient for them to stop me coz i still have to take a bath and prepare for work.......... after that experience i told my self that i should let our facilities management know what happened or go directly to security head of SM to allow me to park elsewhere for free and safe.
FÜCK Ü MOA security guards.........

SM MOA guards....GRRRRRR
@bri I think Dell should start serious talks with SM for em to let you park your bike since you are tenants (paying tenants ha) . Teletech in Bldg F, I presume allows bikes coz they have their own parking facility.
OT: At SM North Edsa, they dont discriminate bikers going in and around the mall. They have bike racks...yun lang sometimes when the motorcycles come in and park they make your bike trapped inside those racks.
JoJo (Savers)...good luck on your endeavour. I hope they listen this time, they should, it's election period.

oh well, here we go again...... i bike to work same route and this time i did the same routine as what the guard told me last tuesday......to go to the parking ramp going up to the third level parking...........well, this time some happened very discriminating..........another GUARD again asked me to have a ticket before entering the parking building......and as always i asked politely Why?...... he said that every entry whether its a bike or car there should be a ticket........ so, i said to myself, here we go again....... i politely said "Kuya, ginawa ko na ito last tuesday at dehins ako inissue-han ng ticket"....... and the bobong guard told me with a mid tone voice "Basta ginagawa lang namin trabaho namin"..... and i replied "Ok, pero dehins ako magbabayad paglabas kasi isasakay ko ito sa sasakyan ng kaibigan ko pag uwi namin bukas"..... then he said "Bakit dehins???" then the beautiful looking lady who issues ticket commented and said "Kuya, (referring to the guard) di mo nage-gets yun ibig sabihin ni Sir (referring to me), isasakay nya kasi sa sasakyan ng kaibigan nya ang bike nya, so dehins nga naman dapat s'ya bigyan ng ticket kasi magkakaron kami ng suspended ticket, at mananagot yun cashier bukas paglabas nya..." She has a great point there and the guard started to ask his OIC and still they want to issue a ticket to me.... So I told them that i wont be really paying and i said sorry to the beautiful lady and she just smiled as if her explanation was never understood by the guard........ then before i left i heard the guard saying "Bahala na bukas ang cashier dun, sila ang may kasalanan nun kung dehins sya magbayad, basta tayo ginagawa natin ang trabaho natin".... i just smiled and said to my self kawawa kayo bukas.......
the guard actually is not doing his job in a right way. they see their self as a referree and just use their whistle and call for foul...... if im the OIC of that guard i will make him decide and tell him if he's thinking in a right way.........bobo eh.

I hope that this will be settled soon. I want to have the Bike Rack placed near the lespu Station of MOA. ;D There should be a cage only for bikes.. and SM or Dell employee that are commuters should have a previlege of their own parking cage.

I hope you do not lose your cool when arguing your case with those security guards. We are not sure if they really passed their neuropsychiatric tests considering they have firearms.

gbb, just talked to councilor grace santos, its in their final reading regarding the installation of bike racks in MOA and in any other business establishments in Pasay. Maybe next week it will be a city resolution/ordinace, that prior to application and renewal of business license, there should be a bike rack requirement. sorry for that it takes two weeks to reply to you. likewise , during in our meeting she emphasized that she will have her 2nd meeting with MOA administration, will update you in 2 weeks. have a blessed lenten...
