Best- 1. A motorist stopped while I was crossing the Southwoods intersection and thumbs up at me. 2. While I was resting in a big mango tree in Tagaytay, an Italian couple approached me, ask their driver to take pictures with me, then get my e-mail to attached it later.
Worst-
In Southwoods road, a crazy super crazy passenger jeep intentionally "cut" me til my bike screech the gutter then-you know what happened next-ASIAN Hospital!
( well-this is better than Loyola )

best is when there are motorists who still honk when they are about to pass you by yeah one of the best.... and also during traffic jams... you can simply go up gutters or sidewalks and pass them by wave goodbye he he he.... and the best part is being "pasaway" with the guards that was been "programmed" to make "saway" you for no reasons... i love the humps..... he he he... worst: some incosiderate private car drivers thinking that he owns the road... "parang mauubusan ng daan" in tagalog, trying to squeezed you and cut you.... another thing is biking at around 2-3am with all the trucks and buses at their almost top speed.... thanks for the gutters/sidewalks.... but no thanks for whoever concern is for the lampost without lamp he he he... worst experienced recently is biking at night just after "milenyo" i was at the office durng the typhoon.... madilim ang kapaligiran he he he....

best: was way back when i can pass though malacanang to get to ayala bridge from nagtahan intersection.
Worst: trying to pass through the same route and being chased and hounded by marines because GMA administration dont like bikers near the palace

best:
when a fellow cyclist gives a friendly nod or smile as he gives way and share the road me. here's my favorite: when a fellow cyclist in front of me suddenly decided to race then i see a dirt or a bump ahead of us. as the other fellow manages to chop of his speed, i am merrily pedalling away through the dirt and bumps. giving me an advantage.
worst: whenever a jeepney or any PUV decided that they should pick up a passenger. when a motorist decided its their right-of-way, even if they are counterflowing(well, i always made sure that i scream obscenites right their face).
and just a few days ago, i have a chance encounter with a fellow cyclist. actually there are two. one, just happened to be pedalling merrily as if he owns the road. effectively blocking my maneuvers- which left me with no choice but to ram his rear wheels to give him a jolt. then i ran alongside him, with a cursory look. then pedal away. another chance encounter is a rider whose zigzag-ing in the road as if there are no other no road user. i happened to ran alongside as i steer clear then suddenly, he was rushing in my left as if to challenge me. it left me no choice but to nudge his handle bars with legs as i throw him on the opposite lane....

best: when some motorcycle dude harrasses you along the baywalk u.s. embassy area and envy you you could bunny hop on the gutter to elude traffic.... inggit siya oh... and seeing those cute girls on the end seat of a jeepney and following the jeep specially pag nka skirt sila weheheheh.... baaad...
worst: having some motorist bad mouth you even if your out of their way...

You think a modest "Excuse me po" wouldn't work? honestly, i kept my distance at first, yielding to avoid the fellow. but then, when i maneuver- as i said, i was blocked forcing me to hit my brakes. no, a simple 'excuse me' wouldn't work and to some, it poses an invitation to race. patrick> di naman masyado. just want to teach others some road courtesy. hehehe

i have another worst experience again: two days ago (anniversary pala ng mmda yun) i was hit by a 500cc honda big bike at ortigas flyover (under not above)... i was pedalling going home and i don't know where that bigbike come from and it hit my back..... in which he was not supposed to be at that speed due to many people crossing (infornt of galleria-edsa poea side) and its almost a blind sight for motorist that's why there is always mmda to assist pedestrians.... both of us of course "semplang" and i have this bruises "again" at my elbow and a really aching butt! but the wost thing happened in that accident is he hit also a woman in which i think it's like lying dead he he he (waitng for a bus) after hitting me... did'nt see how it happned cause i was lying also he he he.... and i just saw my bike it was almost 5 meters away from me! can't walk straight at that moment, picked up my bike and just saw them rode a taxi with the woman inside and the big bike driver and some bystanders maybe.... and leaving me behind with the mmda and some uzis.... and of course to styxmaster (garry) was there to help me too in which i called him at once eventhough he was inside the bus already he he he.... damage: my BB and the pedals only.... and thanks for creating the akexrims for being a bombproof... kahit anong ingat mo kung walang disiplina ang mga motorist talaga... kawawa tayong mga biker and pedestrians too.....

@brad Larry
I think you should have a medical checkup just in case. I am glad you're okay. Hope to ride with you again some time.

best: when the traffic reaches during the afternoon biking to home it is very feasible because you will cross them until you reach UP
worst: most of the jeepney always stop immediately beside you within the bike lane and they presuming that they own the road that's why you must check your brake by and by to make sure that you can brake immediately without hesitation

worst: going home from talayan to sta. cruz, my usual route is going dapitan......after crossing railroad trail(w/c is the Blumintrit rail road tracks)...theres no car in front of me, i was just to start pedaling my pace fast, one old man suddenly cross the street out of nowere (kung baga....nakipag patintero sa kalsda with other cars also) in order just to get to the other side, well i hit the brake hard just to avoid the old man, coz he was so close already to me, what happen next is the bike throw me out infront, then fall on hard cement with my chin big cut......for me it was a terrible accident ive experience......what happen to the old guy.....he run away......i went home dripping blood on my chin.....park the bike then went to hospital for treatment....that was 2years ago....sept 10, 2004. God Bless everyone...ride safely.. brad, i just read this one, and frankly, i endoed on Sept. 10th, too, at maarat, my worst accident ever.

Best, riding along jumeirah beach road with the breeze as fresh as ever and the oh so smooth road. Sheik Zayed road, 4 lane and some part 6 lane road very smooth and clean. Worst, the same road where drivers look at you as target and will not wait a nanosecond to run you down. Sheik Zayed road was voted the most dangerous road in the whole world. Talk about vehicles splitting in 5 pieces. Lets say your riding at 4 in the morning and you are in the furthermost right side of the road occupying 8 inches of the road, a 4x4 behind by half kilometer on the furthermost left fast lane will redline his rpm and pass you inches (PINAHAN) then go back to his lane. And it's only you and him on the road at that time. We have had so many crashes and spills offroad but there are so many deaths on the road here, even if they have back up or support car. Talk about 4x4 plowing into the group or litterally running over cyclist. friend of us training for the coming winter was hit and it was horrible. Dislocated shoulder, ruptured spleen, two broken ribs and cuts all over his arms and legs. Every weekend when we are on the way to the offroad trail, we will see minimum of 5 accidents on the road. Turned trucks, cars, 4x4 all the worst you can think of. The rea;lly annoying one's are okay, The others are just summed up in two words, Life threathening. There were 139 deaths in 1999, and I dont have the figure now. but most of them are messengers and delivery boys. Still cyclist. For such a small city.

Best: Aside from saving fare, being able to avoid those SOB jeepney snatchers and hold-uppers. It felt great when I ride my bike specially on my way home and i passed by inner streets since Taft is such a BS place to ride on. I pedal my way taking my time in a dim but quite inner stret being able to relax and contemplate on things running in my mind Worst: Aside from the inevitable jeep/car swerves and cuts, those maniac dogs who chases me madly! Ruins my trip but it makes me get home quicker ;D You animal you!

-Best : Motorist stopping at the intersection then waving at you to proceed. Fellow cyclist thanking the crossing guard at QC circle. Motorist giving you a courtesy honk upon passing you
-Worst : Vehicle suddenly opening their door. Jeepneys cutting you off the road Motorist using the bike lane for them to overtake other vehicle.

Best: Moving alongside with 4X4's in an almost knee-level high rainflood in España, while jeeps and other vehicles can't move...Angas ng feeling hehe. Also, getting friendly smiles and honks from fellow bikers. Worst: Trinoma Parking! and to all that prohibits bicycle in their area! pakyu! Peace! hehe

Best: both in Baguio and Australia I love the bike community comradship! Cyclists saying hi and smiling when passing by is the sign of a good day Worst: the smog in trinidad and baguio - and any urban centre in the philippines! i've been hit twice by cars in australia and I've got to say that it ain't as bad as breathing in smog every single day! jp

Not that mapipigilan mo init ng ulo but picking fights w/ motorists is very dangerous It's okey , kung another cyclist or a jeepney , bus driver But kung naka private vehicle , it's really an effective way to be shot You dont know who's inside off duty cop, psychopath or john rambo I dont even pick fights when I'm driving anther vehicle of course we have our bad days hehe That is a very important advice. Here's a story I heard about a friend of a friend, let's call him "Jim". Jim was driving his car one night. 2 guys in 1 motorcycle cut him off. Jim shouts obscenities. The motorcycle turns back and confronts Jim. The motorcycle driving guy says to the guy behind him: "Tol, tirahin mo na" (brad, shoot him). A shot rang out. Jim was shot. Jim became bedridden... forever. Wife left him. Friends who visit him once in a while tell me that Jim, in his crazed (or sane moments?), shouts that he doesn't want to live anymore. I can only recall Jim as a guy who loved the nightlife, looked very much like Bruce Lee, who had a threatening stare, who must have thought he owned the world. Made a mistake and messed with the wrong kind of people on the street. THe moral of the story... Let us define World Peace

Best: when my wife and i went to wet market using my rig and some people say "Wow! sweet naman".
Worst: when i was riding with my buddy sabretooth along visayas ave, going to QC Circle, then this delivery van intentionally hit my left arm bar while smiling like hell. my blood rushed up to my head and start shouting "@$#%^&%%. come back here you fagot."
