The losers are the riders who pour their hearts out to get a place in the team. They would be getting better treatment from trade teams the likes of Casino Filipino. Though they support sports team, I still feel that money from gambling which turn lives of people who gamble isnt right. More so the alcohol and tobacco company. Poor Victor Espiritu, He lost his chances during his younger days and he will lose it again. No more Padyak Pinoy? The real losers are the younger generations who are looking for a hero, an inspiration, a motivation to get into sports and become winners. What do they see now. "Walang asenso at buhay sa cycling, mag aabroad na lang ako." Translation= there is no life in cycling. I hope the blue ribbon committee grill the guy in front of Elixir bike shop. He looks like a drug lord, gambling lord and middle man combined ;D ;D ;D Peace Balae ;D ;D

One of my friends who I am working on to get exposure/sponsorship (Irish Valenzuela) a member of this squad got into this mess too. The guy lives on 4k a month allowance from PSC and last January his bike was taken back by the RP team. This guy placed 5th in the Tour of Thailand and now he's no longer part of the team. Good thing an Indonesia team signed him up for a years contract to be their player. good for him and bad for RP coz we lost a good player (he was Padyak Pinoy rookie of the year 2007). BTW, I laced that store with laser markers...I'm old school (80s actually) I'll let the B52s handle them ;D ;D ;D Jaymz ----> WAPAK!!!!!!! As punishment I'll let Irish race you towards Sierra Madre naka SS ka!!! Balae, the blue ribbon doesnt need me anymore ... I'll let the cyclists run over em and bunny hop on their heads as a treat.

Last night I was in a conversation with a Sheik friend of mine, he just came in from Phils. and he got the wrong impression of our people and the county itself til I laid it all down to him. Like Baseball champion in Asia in the early 70's, Basketball too! Asian sprint queen, Boxers who holds belts in different categories or weight division, Eugene Torre selling timers or chess clocks to fund his trip for games in europe, And how we excel in sports that are associated with drinking and fighting like bowling, darts and billiards. I even mentioned the holder of 4 world cups in 4 decades(70,80s, 90s and 20s) in bowling. Paeng Nepomuceno. The most davastating one man show in the history of bowling. I got him googling all night and calling me every minute to say '' you're right" Allegra wrote That's the harsh reality of amateur sports There is no life sa amateur sports unless na may pro league ka mapupuntahan like basketball or boxing Walang short term solution Tulungan lang tayo to make cycling popular dito sa felifens so the sponsors will take notice of our sport to make a pro league BTW , nakakaawa ang poor members ng RP cycling team How about other rp team members from other amateur sports who have the money? PhilCycling airs side on riders’ complaints
By Romina Austria Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 02:56:00 02/28/2008
MANILA, Philippines -- Philcycling, the country’s NAtional federation for bike sports, is asking a group of protesting riders to file their complaint with proper authorities to get to the bottom of an equipment controversy regarding the most recent Southeast Asian Games in Thailand.
In a press release sent to media offices, PhilCycling said it is encouraging “investigations on the acquisition of bicycles and equipment the government purchased for the use of cyclists who competed in the 24th Southeast Asian Games in December 2007.”
PhilCycling president Bert Lina said the federation will actively participate in the investigations provided they are conducted by proper bodies.
The statement comes at the heels of a statement by a group of cyclists who have accused the federation of not properly distributing to them bicycles and equipment worth P2.2 million. The cyclists maintain that the bikes used during the SEA Games were overpriced.
PhilCycling, in the statement, clarified its side in the issue.
PhilCycling said it “merely made recommendations to the Task Force for the 24th SEA Games, an ad hoc body composed of representatives from the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC), for the bicycle and equipment requirement for the Thailand Games.”
Initially, the PhilCycling requested for P3.2 million in bicycles and equipment, but the Task Force drastically cut it to P1.8 million because of financial constraints.
With a little haggling, PhilCycling managed to raise the Task Force financial commitment to P2.2 million but it still needed to “make necessary but equally drastic adjustments in the specifications of the equipment.”
The PSC took over from there, specifically in the canvass and bidding and eventually in the awarding process. The PhilCycling, for its part, merely monitored the progress of the acquisition especially on the delivery dates as well as to the conformation to specifications of the equipment purchased.
The PhilCycling does not get direct financial assistance from the PSC. All bicycles and equipment, including uniforms, from the PSC go directly to the cyclists and coaches.
PhilCycling has gradually improved the country’s performance in the SEA Games. From the one gold medal won in Vietnam in 2003, two gold medals were clinched in 2005 and this was doubled to four gold medals in the 2007 Thailand edition.

There should be a massive strike (of cyclist) if they only get a slap on the wrist. that will be very insulting!!
By reading the post above with Daily Inquirer article, right there you could see already that they're painting everything gray, no black or white folks. How do these bastards go to church and sleep well?
Make a lot of copies of whatever evidence you guys have and spread them around.

The cyclist already filed their complaint at the ombudsman. I saw the picture in a tabloid. No writeup though.
