;D ;D ;D ;D...I think this is only the solution, but US wont do that again to much headache, no interest since and lots of them doesnt like the americans...so its a waste. Let the Chinese or Russian do it, for sure they have a big interest on the country OR revolution. Jun, my friend are you serious? You really think this is a solution? Another country annexing the Philippines again? Come on brad, you're not on anything are you? ;D No..its a joke ;D. Just getting tired of Philippine politics. The politicians are getting all the upper hands and rich getting richer. No sympathy to the poor people. I dont think there is quick fix of the problem unless the people really join together to demand change and put all the corrupt politician in jail. I always believe our kababayan should have better life after finishing schools. Our people are one of the most educated people in the world but the govt doesnt do enough to create jobs with better salary. If the govt do better to create jobs our kababayan I think dont pursue overseas work. just my 2 cents.

Come on brad, you're not on anything are you? ;D ussprinceton wants a japanese colonization. I think we need a government reorganization. I am voting for the parliament - what have we got to lose? Can it get any worse than this? It's like changing the rules, but the players will remain the same. Totally useless IMO

i dont see how the charter change can make things any worse. The Phil is bad as it is. At least income made in the province will stay in that province for development and not sent to manila. A prime minister can be fired any time. We can have 12 prime ministers in a year if we're not happy with the current one. Its easier to fire a prime minister than impeach a president. I think we shouldnt be afraid of change. A prime minister can be corrupt - the house parties can be corrupt ... how is that any different from a corrupt president, a corrupt senate and a corrupt congress? Can it be any different or any worse than how it already is? Do we plug more holes in a sinking ship or jump into a newer ship - even if the crew is the same - what would it be?

I dont think a parliament is reserved just for rich countries. It is a type of government based on a "system" and not on "money". Its so hard to impeach a crooked president in a republic - it takes a major uprising. In a parliament, the people just fire their ass. Dont you think money made in a particular province should stay in that province? I mean, if they find oil in Davao, should davao oil revenues be used to develop manila further or develop Davao into a bigger metropolis and provide jobs for people there?

are you forgetting guys that we already tried the parliamentary type during the time of marcos? and who do you think was still the boss then? hehe! the parliament became just a darn rubber stamp! we cannot rely on systems only...systems are only as good as the people who implement them...we need good people...hwag nyo akong kakalimutan sa 2010! hahaha! ;D just my 2 cents

Thank you for the tip LaMok. You know, despite the failure of the first parliament, i am still for it. It would be interesting to note that Marcos chose his assembly men and in a real parliament, the people choose their assembly men. I think it could still work if people get to choose the right representatives to the assembly

who do you think is qualified? alot of our best, intelligent kababayan is now working abroad with a earning a high salary and leaving a comfortable life. aba eh kung ikaw, oo ikaw kung may offer sayo ng magandang income o package deal ba't di mo kukunin syempre dollars yan--in the end iwan mo ang pilipinas isama mo pa ang pamilya! just like what happened to my brother working at the united nation, as deputy director of latin american and the carribean division, new york as UNPF as united nations population fund, so few filipino who are qualified in that position-----he was offered then in the late 90's to be the u.n. director branch in manila, with the endorsed of sec. of tourism then sec. araneta to the u.n. council, but his reply a big no! my brother is a scholar pa nga ng bayan, PEYUPS los banos, laguna alumni- imagine a few good filipino are holding the upper level of position in abroad, why not the philippines? the answer is corruption, corruption, corruption!

lets start from the lower level--first scrap the barangay chairman and its council/kagawad then the councilor. imagine we are the only country in asia that has barangay chuvalu chinys. let the mayor/congressman do the job for urban and rural development program no need for barangay chuvalu- the mamang polis do their job in peace and order control....just for the start. next to follow--any suggestion? ??
