back in 4th year highschool, all the boys in our section were somewhat "required" to take up the Rubik's Cube in order to be in the "inner circle" ...which is why i was forced to learn to make "buo" (trans: solve) the 3x3x3 from the very mixed-up state. my fastest time to solve is 2 minutes, but i may be slower now because of lack of practice. ;D

i'm not into speed cubing, but the 3x3x3, fastest i can is 1 minute 40 seconds
i was trying the 5x5x5 (the professor) but my officemate hasn't done completing it yet, so i can't borrow it.

i was kinda wishing for the professor 5x5x5 cube. i got the rubix revolution instead, nice though, 6 puzzles but it requires batteries

uphiller, are you the one in 2nd place brad? good luck on the 2nd phil open. i should get my own cube and practice speed cubing soon errr...do you guys have a source for The Professor ( 5 x 5 x 5)? cube? i saw one in greenhills but it's totally out of my way. costs $39 in the US but it's around P1,200 in greenhills, btw it's an original.

uphiller, got the DIY 5x5x5 cube brad. i'm friggin' hooked. turning the cube is not bad, although i might need to lubricate it in a few weeks. i still have to practice a lot, since solving the edges and wings are a little different and i keep on messing up some sides. but i'm solving the centers pretty well. i'm using this algorithm. www.bigcubes.com/5x5x5/5x5x5.html
