I'm back to air soft as of now, I have a MP5 Electric Spring Gun having some fun on roaches and rats outside our house he he he. Im planning to buy a full metal steraug? I think, I forgot the name eh, by mid april, hope to join some of your groups some time. Steyr AUG? Nice gun albeit big and heavy. I used to own one, China made Big Elelphant Steyr AUG, converted some gearbox parts to marui and the magazine to hi-cap, played at home for a while then sold it. Musta ka na brad? losiphile

Bought it sa LOWDOG in Ortigas Center, sa Cityland Bldg infront of Robinsons-Equitable Tower. Most of the parts are 2nd hand stock Marui parts except for the Angel O-ring. Happy shooting those roaches. ;D ;D ;D

gud day sir/s,
me, my brother & rainbow 63 are all agl members. were the in house gunsmiths in our team, been playing airsoft since 1990. its a nice hobby to be into, but its a bit pricey. good thing china made airsofts are now available, mind u, they almost have the same quality of parts like of those made in japan. we should know since we were modifying guns b4 2000. if anyone would like to ask about airsoft, & its modification, pls dont hesitate to email us, call or text us, we would be more than willing to help, just like people here who are very accomodating & informative.
sir praetorian- fellow agl member, whats ur handle sir in agl

gud pm sir/s,
me, my brother, & rainbow 63 are into airsoft, we are agl members, as praetorian mentioned, the oldest team in airsoft. we have been into this kind of sport since 1990 or before (if my memory is still correct), we have been modifying gas guns like maruzen, jac, mgc, etc, as well as aeg since b4 2000 and currently, its counterpart acm. Were the in-house technicians in the agl team. Like airsoft, mtb is also an expensive hobby. U can meet accomodating & helpful people in both fields, as well as those who are not so accomodating & nice. For those who have questions or inquiries re. this sport, feel free to call or e-mail us, we are happy to help, assist or teach those who are interested, as our way of saying thank you to the PinoyMTBiker community who have been helpful and supportive to us newbies. ;D

I've always been invited by friends to get into airsoft knowing that I like guns. I always declined because I felt the games werent very realistic. Because of the limited range of airsoft guns, encounters involve very short distances. Nothing bad there especially if you like room-to-room skirmishes.
In real situations firefights can erupt if you spot the enemy 300 yards away in an open battlefield. But what really gets my goat about airsoft is that an adversary can actually DENY that he was hit! My friends admit it happens and they hate it too.
I told my friends I'll join them when airsoft guns take on the capabilities of the MILES gear used by the US Army. There's the flash, the bang and the range.
And with the MILES gear, you can't deny it if you are hit!
In the meantime, I get a kick handling the guns my friends trick out. Heck, I may even buy airsoft guns just for display in my house.

Yup, maybe for close-in skirmishes or room-to-room clearing type of drills. I think the big advantage of airsoft games over the PPSA or IDPA type of action is that there are live, thinking adversaries to deal with. May kalaban ka talaga. Its a group effort and strategy plays a big part in airsoft games.
On the other hand, PPSA or IDPA events are basically shooting speed/accuracy contests. Each event is quite short in duration and the player is just the shooter. Even in "Fun House" type of events that simulate room-to-room clearing drills, the object is really just mow down each target as fast as you can and/or within the allowed ammo count. There is no adversary out to hunt you down or to outwit.
Yeah I think the way to get the best of both worlds is use something like the MILES system. There is the need for strategy; it can be a group fight or man-to-man duel; ranges can be near or far; there's the recoil, the flash, the bang, the smell of powder and the feel of a warm gun.
Just my 2 centavos. I know this won't happen in the near future.

M1 carbine? as in the .30cal replica? Not sure if there's an electric version but i did use to own a gas M1 carbine. Never had it converted to CO2. Just charge the mag with flon. Wooden stock and metal parts.
Also had the Asahi M60 gas gun and sheriff ak 47 gas gun. Heck i had jac as well.
Also started 1990 with AGL. Mabuhay AGL southside and AGL Marikina.
Sold most of my stuff and seldom play. I must admit the quality of players nowadays made me stop playing.
As for the guy claiming that airsoft gaming isn't realistic....guess what.....your right. Airsoft was never intended to be realistic. I mean c'mon, I don't think you'll see anyone (in the real world) carry more than 200 rounds of ammo in combat. What the game offers tho is that it takes us to another place and fulfills our childhood fantasies. It's a fun sport unfortunately there are a lot of rotten apples playing nowadays.

Seem to be good for playing airsoft, especially if the stock will be made of wood

One marine soldier emptied a whole magazine on him yet his IWESS remained idle, silent, meaning, he was still alive to make beng beng for another few hours.
