I was up all night checking the net what sort of "bakal" you guys are talking about. Found myself an informative site which details every guns (pistol) in the market. From Allegra's well loved Czec (CZ) to Tolit's shining Taurus. Got me nailed on the screen till 2am. Still famous among my friends is still the good ole Glock. I have small hands, glock 17 seems nice and mount it with my Cateye EL500 ;D
What am I thinking!!!...lagot if my wife stumbles unto this thread.

newbie questions here so please bear with me:
1. ammo - which of the local factory loads would you consider cheap and reliable? am looking for jhp ammo either in 115 or 124 g.
2. cleaning - what alternatives do i have that i can use for gun cleaning? i heard i can use kerosene to clean parts and motor oil to lube the slide. but other than those, what else? or would it be advisable to buy the imported (and expensive) cleaners and lubes? what other equipment do i need and where can i source these? the only store i know is twin pines.
3. safety gear - can i use my bike glasses for the firing range or do i have to buy "gun" glasses? can i use construction earmuffs instead?
thanks in advance.

What are construction ermuffs? The guy on the video is Jerry Mikulek the fastest revolver shooter. The fastest pistol shooter is still our very own Jet Dionisio ( in fairness, Miculek did beat him sa speedshppting championships one time w/ a revolver, tsamba lang yun

The "bakal" boys of PinoyMTBiker ;D
I'm not into the sport of shooting but would like a gun "just in case". I also think an owner must have the necessary skills on how to effectively use the gun.
How cheap are local bullets by the way?
Diba Armscor is one of the factory that we pass by when we go down AFP in Maarat?

an israeli trained former bodyguard of one of our personalities here once thought me how to make tipid...am sure i dont make much money as alphabolt or allegra so i was emptying my pocket faster than a speeding bullet...neve gone more than 3 hundred rounds.
this is what he taught me as an alternative or dagdag to your actual shooting practice...remove the mag and make sure the chamber is clear..close the door to your room...if you have those paper targets place them anywhere you want..get a cigarette filter place it in the slot where the hammer will land (to cover the firing pin)... it should fit snuggly...use your imagination then do your thing..its like shadow boxing..filter (one or two) is there to protect your gun from possible damage of dry firing..(note: this is not applicable to hammerless types of weapon)
nakita kong benefits: its a simulation...you can actually see the problem with your squeezing..praktisado pati utak mo, moves mo without the expense...well, you cannot duplicate the sound and the recoil plus the gun is a lot lighter without the ammo but it's defitely better than just staying at home and watching tv.

Aldous, Im not into "bakal" as much as Allegra (mga 1% nya lang)...but from what I know ...the guns produced by Armscor are pretty good with a plus of having cheaper and available parts better than the Korean/chinese/E.European curiosities that seem impressive but are lacking in performance and design not to mention spare parts Stick to 1911 45 cals and 9 mms for best and cheapest maintenance management Dami oldies meron used parts they can give ya (tip tip) cheap or barter sa kiss heheheh ;D

Leonard (ano ba tlga spelling kuya ..trans: whatda ) , Im actually a rifleman more than a pistolero All that sniper sheeet appealed to me also, my right hand fingers are stubs (thanks dad) so Im very selective with my pistols. when I shot my brad's HK pistol...I switched to my left hand Weaver stance...ayos! better grouping (if you can call my on-paper only a "grouping") eto si Allegra mukhang MOA shooter , folks ! (trans : Rob Leatham, is that you?)

CZ Model 75 won the PNP tests if I remember it correctly Yup , they did but Beretta was cheaper I actually love the weight and feel of the Jerichos they replaced Very accurate pistols..those Jerichos Friends at the SAF School Sta Rosa taught me how to shoot Tindi...they only allowed me to shoot live ammo when I ve already done 1hour of body shooting-conditioning dry-runs of course they laughed at my pistol accuracy ...errr.. the lack thereof pala... showed em my rifle.. ehem.. talent ...d pa rin na impress (trans: so? ) Seems that the top dudes there are all snipers

It's Lenard I dont deserve to carry TGO's ( the great one ) gear. Rob Leatham is a god I'm not really a gun person but I liked competitions that tested your nerves, and I thought golf was boring plus there was a jedi like mystique in making a pistol perform magic hehe Lipat dapat ako sa rifle comps coz they are cheaper , but a friend introduced me into mtbs and now roadbikes. Memory nalang yung IPSC days

sirs, Is there a way to verify if a gun was not involved in a crime? Of course without raising suspicion that the said gun was used in a crime, discretely ika nga.
My friend has a gun ( revolver) that he doesn't use. He told me he will sell it to me at a very low price, heck maybe give it to me nalang. I just want to verify kung safe ba. No papers kasi it's very old na. 80s pa ata.

i just realized how expensive gun cleaning accessories are here in the Phil. is it possible for a relative for example to buy stuff for me in the States and bring it back here? like if i ask my sister to bring home a bore snake and some bore solvent for example, legal ba yun or will she get into trouble with the authorities? anyone familiar with importation laws? thanks again!
