okay a few ground rules our group tells newbies 1) don't bring anything white, your laundryperson will get really angry if you bring it home with another color. 2) don't bring maong, if it gets wet....oooh boy....it's one heave load.... yeah, it might be cold up there. just bring jogging pants and a long sleeved cotton shirt. that would be more than enough don't be left behind after 7:30 am, the sun will be burning the campsite be ready to descend by 7:00. we normally break camp around 6:45. but our mess kits and cook sets still out of the bag in case we need a quick meal before heading down. but our tents and sleeping bags are already packed and ready

glad you enjoyed the hike and climb when it was still legal to camp in Peak 2 of Makiling, you'd feel like your tent is up against storm signal #3, he he he. here's an FYI Taal lake used to be a part of the sea, until it closed up and became fresh water. There are actually fresh water sharks in the lake, but the characteristics is that of a salt water fish

hmmm...isa pala kayo sa mga nag iingay at nagkakalat ngayon dun tsk tsk tsk. Honestly...been climbing for long time now, but I really avoided climbing Maculot. Not only there's lot of cases Holdapan but also because the trail is badly eroded. Not considering with its close proximity to Manila, andaming maiingay at nagkakalat sa taas. Anyway, we cant generalize na rin, baka mas environmentally aware yung grupo sa mga napabalita noon. Since 3 hrs lang pala ang ascent, you can start bit late para nde mainit umakyat. i guess it's time for them to temprarily suspend climbing to mt. maculot and have it rehabilitated, just like banahaw. sayang, it's one of the finest mountains pa naman for indoctrination climbs. curahee!

in my opinion... try to avoid climbing maculot na... maculot was never been like used to be many years ago....bugbog na masyado.... but still the view from the rockies still remains he he he..... may sari-sari store na sa taas ngayon.... they are teaching mountaineers to be a spoiled ones.... ang daming tao pa.... may mga naglalagay ng mga tali na parang binili nila yung part ng campsite....and mga magnanakaw..... maganda na lang ang makulot pang day hike na lang..... my first climb there was almost 10 years ago pa... maganda pa ang trail... no vandals... alang basura..... and walang reservation sa campsite! and kakaunti pa ang mga tao dun....pwede mong iwan ang mga gamit mo sa campsite then go down to buy some supplies for another night.... habang tumatagal nasisira na rin..... lumalawak ang trails and new trails are being established too.... anyway good for beginners too..... try climbing mt. manabo a good alternative for maculot....goodluck wers mt manabo located sir an dhow to get there
