Guys these past few days I felt very very tired not physically but mentally especially at work, my supervisor was kind enough to give me an emergency off, I realized that my usual day off getaway isnt working anymore to motivate me at work. To tell the truth I got tired of my usual gimmicks during day offs, whew even ridin my rig it didnt gave me that excitement unlike before. In fact yesterday I even bought a game console to think that it will help me get back that drive that edge once I had but it didnt work either. Even my colleagues is concern about my signs of nervous breakdown. I remember a line from ROCKY 3 when Apollo is giving advice to Mr. Balboa he "WE GOT TO GET BACK THAT EYE OF THE TIGER ON YOU". Guys just wanna know whats the best remedy for burn out (nagsasawa)?

Guys just wanna know whats the best remedy for burn out (nagsasawa)? have you considered traveling? i was just wondering since you bought a game console. as if you really want to go to a different world. a game console will do that for you but nothing beats the real thing. not that traveling and playing a game on your PS3 is comparable. its actually not the same in more ways than one. go backpacking: go up a mountain and do some camping. try having a couple of drinks and then hit the beach when you get home. just like what we did a couple of weeks ago. or better yet, how's your love life? ;D . now that should really make things livelier, hehehe. ;D hope this helps. remember, optimists live longer. what ever that means, hehehe. ;D

Burn out, being stressed, can be a symptom of: - not getting enough rest - overtraining (working on the computer too long) - worrying too much about relationships - getting too old When I say not enough rest, it may mean you don't get enough quality sleep. We're not counting hours here, we're counting rest your body needs. Do you have peace and quiet at home? Do you have enemies or financial/safety concerns that deters your peace of mind? Most people who do bad do not have a conscience, so they don't have problems with peace of mind. You might have a sensitive conscience. Also know how to unwind and relieve stress. Playing games for me is additional stress. I want to kill!!! Can't restrain myself! Grrrr!!!!! Relaxing for me is good music, a nice massage and extra service. ;D ;D ;D Seeing the stock market go up, which has been going the wrong direction lately inspite of the election fever... boohoo.. mali discarte ko... I lost a few but that's a long story Waaaaaaaa!!!!!!) Relationships also affect our state of mind and physical health and drive. We need supportive family and friends. Spending time with kids is recharge for me. Studying time is for the tutors. Fontana time is mine! Swim! Photo ops! Ice cream! Kite flying! Sometimes, we just ride our bikes inside our condo. The kids love it when I spend time with them. When I heard my girl told her cousins that she loves her daddy so much because I bring them to school myself... it gives me so much joy. Recharges my spirit and insures a good night sleep every night. Sometimes we allow ourselves to worry too much and too much expectations. Bakit 3rd honor ka lang anak? You didn't make 1st. Bakit 99% ka lang sa exam? where's the other 1%? things like that... Gee, Chinese mentality you know... we nitpik and scrutinize the nitty-gritty stuff sometimes. What about love life? sex life? I think I'd let Jon expound on this topic. ;D And I mentioned getting old. I'm not saying you're getting old because you're not the only one. Sabay sabay naman tayo lahat (we all do). I'm saying you might be getting too old for your work, or your sport, or your hobbies. It might be time to change career, add new hobbies, find new challenges. I know what it's like to get old. The day I turned 30, it was horrible. My body hurt unlike before, although I have been into all sorts of activities since I was 11. But the day I turned 30, my bones just didn't feel right. The day I turned 40, it was worse. I was reminded by somebody in PinoyMTBiker that I might be going through a mid-life crisis because I just upgraded my bike without knowing how to bike first. Yes, that might be the reason. ;D Whatever you're going through is just normal. There might be no need to go to a psychiatrist yet, but no harm if you find a good one. The key is to find a good one, because we can become too dependent on him/her. It's still best to find the answer ourselves. It might just be a lack of vitamins!

if it's only burnout from work, ask for a different assignment. if they can't or won't give you one, then change jobs. and maybe it would help if you took time off before getting employed again, have fun muna, rest.

I take Jon's advice anytime. Go out and travel. Go backpacking, it worked numerous times for me. A short 3 day trip to Bohol also ain't bad

go find yourself a nagging GF and marry her...soon you'll find yourself biking every weekend even when alone on most isolated places you can find. ;D honestly my friend i think you have a problem you're trying to escape from...determine it, face it and finish it...then you will feel better. just my 2 cents.

if i understand it right, eikichi works in a call center and this is his first job after graduation. if i may share from my son's experience, fresh grad and first job after graduation, a call center job @client logic TSR, account:Dell, toxic account. my son would most of the time complain to me of how stressful the job is and i would tell him to relax, take a deep breath and pace himself kasi i knew he was on the brink of a "burn-out", finally after almost 6 months sa job, he burned-out and resigned, being single and without so much pressure, he bummed around for a couple of months and got a work again sa teletech which is 20 mins away from my place. account:verizon - petiks, after that burn-out experience at client logic, he learned to relax (went back to practicing with his band during day off), take a deep breath when things got rough and paced himself, this saturday ibo-blow-out niya kami, he'll be a regular employee of teletech moral of the story : relax, pace yourself and learn to take a deep breath when things get rough.......when all other fails.....resign and look for a petiks job, you're still young brad and don't forget to log at least 1-2 days of saddle time in week, it does wonder to put the stress out of our daily lives

Eikichi, I can relate, I got so burned out that my American boss finally noticed. I was lucky cause they realized they couldn't keep on stretching my patience with constant revisions to the software we were building. The load became lighter. However, that did not solve the burnout. I eventually resigned from the project and got assigned back to business devt. I enjoyed the new challenges: new things to learn, new people to flog , new time sked (day shift after four years of working nights!). Identify the source of your burnout and take it out of your life. Adding other distractions are merely... distractions. Resign from your job if that's what it is. Find something else that will interest you. You're still young. Consider the first five years of working as your playtime to find what you really want to do. But don't avoid working: try full-time jobs. several part time jobs and/or study again. Work is a major part of life, it doesn't define you but it is an extension of you. Do something that you enjoy that will also help you enjoy the rest of what life has to offer, like MTBing. "What if I told you 'insane' was working fifty hours a week in some office for fifty years at the end of which they tell you to piss off; ending up in some retirement village hoping to die before suffering the indignity of trying to make it to the toilet on time? Wouldn't you consider that to be insane?" - Garland Green, ConAir.

I feel better now sir I realize that all I gotta to do is go back where I started. With Mike (norco rider) I hope he wont get mad at me since he didnt report to work last monday because of his knee problem. The ride was very very spine chillin especially when we past the school area its really really dark and as if someone is looking at you from the shadow of the trees. At exactly 7:50pm were already at the town proper. One thing I learned about this ride is that its not whos the strong rider but its how you watch over each others back. Tonight ill be reporting to work and Ill work hard and will be looking forward again into this kind of adventure

errr....so it wasnt burn out after all? well its a burn-out really, but MTBiking accelerated the healing process hehe i myself have been in the same situation brad eikichi, like when the spark of your spirits was exhausted and everything came crashing down as 2nd-degree reaction to it--your GF left you for somebody, you family doesnt give you enough allowances coz you're "masungit", or even your grades are all flunkee... i was about to give you a tip by following what Sam Milby did on his tele-serye: "Henahanap koh eng serileh koh" when he experienced downfall from an top executive, down to an accountant, and now he's a guitar player on a beach-side bar, oh daba, aliw, he took a breather coz the fuzzy burly city's too stressful ok il stop my narratives there, now you know im an avid teleserye fan haha hell yeah going back to the mountains is great, thank God mountainbiking is there to jumpstart your engines again i'm willing to share some insights too brad if ever some of the burn-out monster still creeps in... take care brad come join us this sunday
