Almost everyone of us has ridden the trails of the Sta. Rosa Area...
And almost after every ride, there is this particular place in Paseo de Sta. Rosa where we go and kinda award ourselves with mouth watery local cuisines where some eat managely just a bit and for others like me... I feast on 3 orders of rice and a good bowl of Pork Sinigang... ;D ;D ;D
what about you guys... what do you people preffer as a little consolation for finishing a day of off road riding with your rigs....
"Life Is not A Matter of Fate, Most of the time...It is a Matter Of Choice." -ShadowDeth
"The only thing necessary for evil to triump, is for Good Men to do nothing."
"Some things are true wether we believe them or not."
At sta Rosa none , because I have to pedal back to Los Banos and there, 1 whole Sr. Pedro chicken hehe
" When I'm eating, that's all I think about / If I'm on the march, I just concentrate on marching / If I have to fight,it will be just as good a day to die as any other / If you can concentrate always on the present, you'll be a happy man " - the Camel Driver
For me the reward of finishing every Sta Rosa Ride is to pig out. No regrets stuffing in thousands of calories because Sta Rosa trail takes a lot from riders and make them go very very hungry.
Lotsa turo-turos to choose from:
There is that corner at Sta Rosa market where I indulge in sizzling platters of Blue Marlin steaks, sisig, and assorted seafood.
There is chicken inasal at the back of Sabak.
Not to mention usual fastfood chains like ChowKing and Jollibee at Paseo.
Brewed coffee can be had at Figaro across the Paseo.
I used to enjoy beef kababs at that drive in rest stop by SLEX. Last time I visited Sta Rosa, that eaterie place closed shop na. I also order Starbuck's brewed coffee 'to go' in same drive-in SLEX rest stop. I take either Figaro or Starbuck's brewed coffee as perk up fuel so I can drive back home to Farview 60 kms away.
We used to pig out on fishballs and turon saba and crab balls circa 2004-2006 at that midpoint sari-sari store a kilometer away after bukohan. Forgot the name of the sari-sari store and the 'ale' catering to us classic PinoyMTBiker. Last time I passed by her place, she was nowhere to be found.
Of course Aling Pina Food Hauz is a new addition circa 2006 til present.

strand: Nalulungkot pa rin ako when people diss on mtb users sa road. Wala, just stumbled upon a thread in socmed.
Feb 9, 2019 21:39:47 GMT 8
anarki: Namiss ko kayo. Wala na kamig wifi ng ilang bwan. Hehehe
Feb 10, 2019 7:22:33 GMT 8
anthrax76: strand, they diss mtb users on what grounds? dahil dapat pang bundok? riding speed? nakakalat sa kalsada?
Feb 10, 2019 8:07:54 GMT 8
strand: anthrax76 dapat pang bundok. same sh*t, diff day. started off when somebody bought an RS Tk30 fork. pero di naman daw gagamitin sa bundok. may pic kasi sya sa road.

strand: what can the guy do, if for example, wala naman syang truck get to the trails? kung padyak to trails siya? etc. some people, really.
Feb 10, 2019 20:26:09 GMT 8
anthrax76: yeah well, sa mga ganyan ang sagot ko lang is 1) enough ang kalsada ng maynila para matagtag ka parang sa trail 2) tama ka, eh by the time makarating ako sa trails, laspag na ako dahil wala akong sasakyan maliban sa bike.

anthrax76: 3) affordable transport ang mtb vs rb.
Feb 11, 2019 0:18:25 GMT 8
strand: At para sa limited ang budget, mtb is the more practical option for recreational riding. Masaya nga pag maraming naka-mtb.
Feb 11, 2019 0:26:45 GMT 8
simplej0ys: pakitaan mo pa ng mas maraming picture ng MTB riders na nasa kalsada para gumanda araw niya! hahahaha
Feb 11, 2019 7:56:57 GMT 8
konablack: the problem with most roadies i encounter on the streets is that they will try to race with you as much as possible (target practice kumbaga), i just encountered one this morning, nung nalagpasan nya ako, sabi nya "holi", saka ko lang nagets na 'huli' pala
Feb 11, 2019 11:08:56 GMT 8
konablack: di rin natin masisisi yun iba kasi may mga MTB users na may attitude, walang harmony sa kalsada, karamihan nag uunahan
Feb 11, 2019 11:20:54 GMT 8
strand: OK. Di ko pa na-experience yung may biglang kumarera sa akin when I am on the road. weird siguro ng feeling? ...ay teka, mabagal pala ako. hahaha, auto-loser.

gat3keeper: Peeps .. oks pa ba bumili 26er na old model ?
Feb 12, 2019 6:58:29 GMT 8
konablack: gat3keeper for me it's a yes as long as it serves its purpose, ang titignan mo lang ay yung possibility ng upgrading kasi magiging mahirap mag hanap ng parts if ever mag aupgrade ka na (just my opinion)
Feb 12, 2019 7:05:33 GMT 8
anthrax76: gat3keeper, as long as may available parts pa sa area mo (tires, tubes, rims) all is good. hassle lang naman kapag walang mabili.
Feb 12, 2019 9:05:47 GMT 8
gat3keeper: Sir Anthrax, nawala na yung folding bike thread?
Feb 14, 2019 11:28:12 GMT 8
anthrax76: hmm...actually dehins ko alam kung meron ngang thread
Feb 16, 2019 22:17:38 GMT 8
anthrax76: wala sa search?
