Ok, I also like pretty much all of Michael Jackson's videos. Say what you want about the guy, but his videos have been revolutionary.

any shoegazer music that carried a video is is the perfect anti-music video out there, whether it carried a theme or not. i'm just carrying biker x's anticipation that there are maligned and jaded (pun intended ) music vid haterz like me suggested on the first post. but much of the hate are for current mtv's, a real sign that i'm getting old and contemptuous at the utter lack of inventiveness of today's music vids what is shoegazer? www.washedashore.com/music/shoegaze/but if i was ever to be drilled: one - metallica anyone remember the big fiasco about jethro tull and metallica? @biker x: i notice your drawn to electronica, i'm a big fan m'self, i even went to raves, my favorite being that of ken ishi, this was the moment i understood "wall to wall" music. it was like being in a music video, kinda arguable but that's how it felt with all the effects. btw, anyone got a copy of "pass the doochie" by the musical youth? i swear my 2 yr old will love it! paging rude boys out there, vertigo, yoohooo

I'm not really into techno man although i appreciate its kindred forms like chill-out or even triphop on occassion (am still pretty much a straight forward rocker guy) i just happen to love the aforementioned vids of DJ Roger Sanchez, Spiller, Chicane and co. the visual narrative approach tend to be quirky, innovative and something that hits a personal chord within. many rock vids look cliched in contrast i also had my "shoegazer" phase back in college (which in hindsight seems rather silly and ambiguous as with most other label du jour like "emo" nowadays). Well, if you can accurately call Dinosaur Jr., My Bloody Valentine, The Verve or even Sonic Youth shoegazer. And for a time the Pumpkins were referred to as such (also heard the laughable "avant-garde grunge" term) And i like Lush too, although they were also called dreampop or something. but when you think about it, what's really in a freakin' name? Metallica (when they were still cool) mysteriously lost to Jethro Tull but curiously won the grammy's with a half-hearted (according to Megdeth's Dave Mustaine, not me hehe) rendition of Queen's "Stone Cold Crazy" a year later btw i have an MP3 track of Pass the Doochie hehe. i can send it to ya sa email possible kaya? and yeah i totally got your sentiment 'bout the music vid industry. yet sometimes even a gad-awful-crappy song can be saved by a cool vid. sometimes ;D

radiohead - just (anyone knows what the message was why they all dropped down to the floor?) this is also in my extended vid list along with their surreal "Knives Out" vid. The "Just" music vid, according to one fansite, is "one of the most frustrating ever written - but nobody knows what the man says at the end, and there is no use asking as the band have said that they are never going to reveal the answer. Jamie Thraves, the producer had said "to tell you would deaden the impact, and would probably make you want to lie down in the road too". That vid is like Radiohead itself: esoteric, an enigma, indecipherable

just sharing this link about back masking.... *link* ;D
the link doesn't seem to work. btw what records have you tried back masking pre? just curious...meron ba sa metallica hehe? esp. the Black album when i was still in Grade 5 or 6 we were made to watch this docu-film about backmasking and devil-worshipping in rock records. i remember Ozzy, Dio, even The Eagle's Hotel California etc. Got me scared real good so i switched to New Wave for a while before headbanging my way through highschool where rock and metal saved my existence hehe (Unforgiven was my theme song back then )
