Calling all outdoor enthusiasts and seasoned adventure athletes! The Banaue

endurance and navigational skills on the varied, crisscrossed paths of the
Banaue rice terraces and its surrounding area.
The race will have two categories: the Open and Mixed Categories, each team
shall have a maximum of two racers. The course will start in the Banaue Hotel
then will run through the surrounding hills, trails, rice terraces and
communities of Banaue and will lead back to the Banaue hotel for the finish.
What is Orienteering?
Orienteering is a sport of speed, endurance and navigation strategy where
participants use a map and a compass to run a pre-set course composed of
checkpoints or “controls” that are indicated on the map. Most orienteering
competitions are on foot, with participants navigating off-trail to find all the
controls and complete the race in the shortest time.
Orienteering can be practiced in many different types of terrain. The
essential requirement is a large number of paths, tracks and road offering the
athlete challenging navigation. Navigating between control points means
matching map to ground at high speed, correctly interpreting the maze of paths
and tracks.
REGISTRATION FEE: P1, 800.00
Inclusive of a night stay at the Banaue Hotel Dormitory, 1 hotel breakfast,
and the race kit.
