am a beetle fan here, but haven't owned one yet. although i have close relatives who are into vw's. dunno if you know rcg motors(bong guibani, wife of ellen) thay have a shop near v.luna which caters to full restoration of the vw, he has close ties with aries (banawe) you can get intouch with him, am sure he can help you guys a lot. haven't seen them lately though. last time i was there bong still has that dune buggy well maintained.... its violet with glitters, galing very retro.... with twin carbs john

I have a combi which my VW afficionado brother in law told me to buy. I made it as my business service and it truly delivers even though it breaks down every now and then. But for 15T I wouldnt complain. My Brother in law has a VW restoration shop in San Juan so maintenace is not a problem for me.

levi; what are you waiting for? fix it up na! Kombi's are cool! what year model did you get? any pics?
alegra; the word restored is used loosely nowadays... for a quality resto job they would budget 250k up, its for the job and the parts, so for a quality restored (newly) its gonna be at least 300k.
I did'nt go that route, besides i don't have much money, i simply hired a painter and a tinsmith and the rest is gonna be DIY.
I just love being around and driving these cars.. simply looking at em makes me relax ;D wish to have a bus (kombi) soon.

I had it repainted because the old paint is worse than primer finish.

any pics levi? it does'nt matter if its shiny or not, it the shape and the badge that counts.. like most antiques btw, there will be a VW show on Dec 2 at the fort naval grounds. Anybody who's interested in VW's should go to this event, its a yearly thing. Feast your eyes to an array of restored veedubs, check out the tiangge's for those rare parts and souvenirs and best of all meet fellow enthusiasts.
