Planning to buy new storage. I've surf PCX, this what I've got from the result and I have on list: Seagate 200GB Barracuda SATA P 4,150.00 Seagate 250G NL35 sata server HD P 5,500.00 Seagate 250GB Barracuda SATA P 4,250.00 Western Digital 250GB 7200 SATA 16mb P 4,150.00 Western Digital 320GB 7200 SATA 16mb P 5,150.00 Thanks!

I personally go for the Seagate NL series (near line) series -- they're what you call "server grade"...
There is no noticeable difference between that and the regular barracuda of same capacity, but the NL series are _supposed to be_ more rigorously tested (kasi pang server)...
That said, my regular barracudas haven't died on me yet, so it's up to you if you want to pay a premium for "server quality" drives (I did, kasi for P1,000 more, what I'm really buying for P1k is peace of mind).

are those prices the real prices now? whew! i bought my 80gb SATA for 5k... that was when SATAs where very new.

@ Alfalfa, thanks Sir! I'm a Seagate-user ever since. But I was confusing about the capacity and the prices of the two.
@ Janix, yes these prices are real. Nsa 2,400 nlang ngaun ung hd mo.. hehe

Go for Seagate since you can RMA the drive direct to Seagate Singapore at no cost and you have five years of warranty to boot. IMHO Western drives run hotter.

i remember back in college when 10g was too much storage space, a 16mb video card was a gamer's video card, 128mb of ram qualifies you as a power user, and 300mhz of processing power was the fastest thing out.
