I'm on the lookout for a light, durable and affordable MP3 player that can hold about 100 songs. Also, is there one that is at least water resistant?
If you're about to suggest an Apple, you're not helping. Any other bright ideas? ;D

Idol Bruce! Why don't you talk to Lowie. He knows a cheaper MP3 player that doubles as a card reader. It should cost less than 600 for the player but you need to buy an SD card though. I am not sure about the durability and sound quality.
My vote goes to Creative Muvo though.

I'll ask him about it. Obviously, he hasn't seen this thread. Otherwise, he would have replied.

creative offers a wide variety of mp3 players to tailor fit your needs. imho, they're much user-friendly than the more costly ipod, since they're drag-and-drop. my first unit was a zen neeon. then i got a muvo for my rides and hikes. last christmas, i gifted myself with a vison m.... happy listening and safe ridin to y'all! curahee!

theres are alot of clone shuffles available in the market today, similar to Apple, especially the 1GB shuffle, which you can just clip it anywhere, good for mountainbiking, alot cheaper than the original.

if you really want a cheap Mp3 for you use without crying if you break it and doesnt care about brand. Try CD-R king products, it can hold 500 songs, a little bit slow on interface, plays great vid resolution but it works its usage.

i dont usually ride with an MP3 player. i like to hear the wind brush through my helmet going down on a fast section. but i do use it when i go to the gym specially on the treadmill.
so as not to complicate my life and keep it simple, i bought myself a sony W810i walkman phone. bought 2gigs space, and voila! i can store like 500 songs on this phone plus more.
also, you'll never get to miss txt messages and phone calls, hehehe. ;D

IMHO, the W810i is complicated in itself... a phone with a cam with an MP3 player? What the fudge? ! ;D

What the fudge? ! ;D hmmm.......come to think of it, it is complicated. ;D but if you can have something that does more than one thing, wouldnt that be awesome? you wouldnt need to bring all that electronic gear. if you get stuck in traffic. if you're drinking you're coffee. if you're smoking at the groundfloor during your break. there's no excuse becoz you have your celfone with you which happens to be an MP3 player as well. ;D. ok you left the headphones. dont worry. it'll work via the speaker phone, hehehe. ;D . just make sure there's still some juice (battery power) left. oh yeah, i did forgot that it does take pictures too at 2 megapixels, hehe. ;D .
