Joey, is it easy to modify the PSP's firmware? There's an ISP here that if you subsribe to them, they'll sell the PSP for 6.8K yen (3K php), I'm hesitant since its obviously a jp version, just dunno how easy/difficult will it be to convert it.

@warlock - i don't know if you could upgrade the firmware here!!!!
@jovell - to install videos you have to have a video converter (like video 9 i think! i use a PSPware) it automatically converts and transfers video to your PSP but you have to back up you files 'coz other converter erases you stick first before transfering files!!!!
to browse the net you have toset it up when your router is running!!!!!! what i do is just go to any wifi cafe and browse pang akit chick lang!!!! the problem with the browser is its too slow!!!!!!

PSP movie creator is the best movie converter yet.
You can also downgrade, upgrade, downgrade, upgrade, downgrade, upgrade, downgrade your PSP versions 1.5 to 2.71 in an instant. Cool.

Mga Sirs,
Help me out here. I've seen three versions with different FWs. They have the Jap, Asian, and US versions. Is it true that, the US versions are the only ones that can read movies? (Is my term correct?) Further, the higher the version, the better?

PSP uses mp4 format in playing videos. I'm not sure if 1.5 versions can play videos or not coz I use 2.71 but any versions, be U.S. or asians are the same. Downgrade is another matter in application. Some PSP's can't be downgrade.

So what should I get? 1.5, 2.7, or the 2.8 FW.

At last I have my own PSP Slim, very addictive he he he. I heard some issues that the slim heats up faster during long play time. Well I even tried to play 4 hours straight and that ddn't happen to my unit.

the difference between the slim and phat is that all metal parts in the phat was replaced with plastic in the slim!!!!! so if it falls good luck!!!!! and the slim has a connector for TV!!!!!! firmware can be dowloaded at www.us.playstation.com/Default.aspxi use a 3.73 firmware
