My biggest fans are my kids. I actually practiced my flatland tricks to entertain them. hopefully it will get them interested. Was trying to re-learn boomerangs, ankle busters and flails the other day. I can barely carry my weight now.

just a curious quesion, I'm planning to setup a BMX myself (for my wife). are headtubes 1 1/8" too like MTB frames? are forks and headsets threadless now?
my old BMX is still alive but the 52 tooth chainring and 15 tooth cogset is a killer for training it also uses the dowel pin cranks instead of the newer 1 piece or 3 piece.

Yup - they are now 1 and 1/8ths. they are threadless - which is a lot better. I could never get any threaded headset to work well. Epoch's and Tanges were @#$%. It was either too tight or it rattled. Newer frames use integrated drop in headsets
just watch out tho- there are now 3 BB standards. American (big) Euro (small MTB Size) and Spanish (mid, press in)
yaiks, i didn't know how much BMX progressed after i switched to MTB. I don't even know if the standard hub has 36 or 48 holes
i'm thinking of getting a BMX at Paulina's, it's gonna cost a little shy of 10K. but I gotta watch out for the BB. American is I think the most common. I haven't seen the Euro and Spanish though

suprisingly its 36H now for freestyle. i think its gotten to a point that 36 hole rims are as tough as 48's. the only time i see 48's are on the rear wheels of ramp and street bikes.
thats cool!!!!! hehehe I was into flatland back then too hehehe the last flatland bike i had was the haro ground master maybe 12 years ago, oh am working in a bike shop now here in NYC and the owner is also an old school BMXer (the fiola, aparijo, itson, dominguez era) hehehe he has some treasure (so to speak) stashed in the shop's basement, mongoose decade, gt performer, hutch trickstar, the CW's that dizz hicks/Ceppy Maes uses and haro sport and master ( the ones wilkerson, hoffman, McCoy and Moliterno used) he also had parts like those mks graphite pedals (in white heheh) dyno drainpipe seatpost and those tioga parts that came in pastel colors hehehehe anyway its nice that there are still guys that are into these old school stuff.....this will remind the New school generation where it all started.....mabuhay mga 30+ years old BMXers!!!! hehhehhe

The CW's with the front and rear sturmney archer drum brakes? I love Ceppie and Dizz. Dizz made an art out of the mini ramp and kick turns. Ceppie was the first guy I knew who made black bikes cool in a time when neon ruled. Take pix apol! Is the mongoose decade the black one or the pink one? I just sold my haro ground master last month. Its now Arnel's wifeys bike.

@ XP. Idol ko si norman dati. I have a beta tape of one of his sessions on lunch date. I almost killed myself learning miami hop hops. and he used to do them no handed! have to look for it though. I quit freestyle in 1994 - but I always had to fight the urge to ride flat
@ chi - i am going to join the nighride later. but I brought the DMR. next time tayo at FTI if you wnt to see the BMX
@ Nono - alan sy? familiar. I might remember him if I knew what bike he rode back in the day.
