All trials (not trails) bikes are hardtails. They are smaller and have shorter geometry all around, and some of them designed for 20" wheels.

A DH hardtail frame is a better choice for trials than a XC frame.

A DH hardtail frame is a better choice for trials than a XC frame. is it because it can accomodate the tall forks?

mr. suave...i don't think so...but i'm not sure, my own guess is because these have lower seat tube height which translates to greater standover clearance...maybe max can clarify this...tamad na ako mag-search sa internet..he..he..he..

seat tube height nga lang. trials is not about long travel suspension. trials is more space for yoy body to move around the bike ehehehe

sir, question lng. so what is the recommended wheel size for trials and also sa freeriding and dirt jumping? im just a little confused whether to go 24" or 26". thanks a lot. Trials is a different thing, Freeriding and dirt jumping is similar in some aspects... For PURE trials Id recommend a small wheel, ( as I've seen in some vids )... For freeriding or urban riding, some uses 24" wheels some uses 26" And for dirt jumping, Use 26" wheels... What Style of riding are you happy with Sir Gabe? kris

Gabe brad, first welcome to this discipline of pure fun and freedom ( not doing illegal things ), I've always wanted to ride a small frame, it would feel great ,cause your a big man riding a small Dirt jumping Bike, it's only right to get that frame so you could easily throw it around when your jumping dirt mounds right? So another vote has been casted, get that frame, don't let anyone stop you from doing something hehehehe... kris

Congrats gabe, well you have to slow it down a bit and concentrate if you're going to jump, just focus on something and practice hard everyday... Also wear some adequate protection like knee pads cause your just starting, you could remove them if you're acustomed to jumping dirt...

sir konablack, thanks for the reminder! yup will try to get some gear also. helmet would be the first in line. back in the ol' days, i was kind of a bmx freak. use to ride half pipe and some dirt jumping also. well, those were the days! im pretty sure its a diffrent strategy on a mountain bike. hope to ride with you guys soon and will be glad to receive some pointers. first things first, maybe one of those nasty table top or no footer can can perhaps! hehehe. tnx brad!
