pullbacktry the giro mad max.. but its a little heavy... axo are also good.. why are you looking for helmets with lots of vents?? if your mostly into DH, a DH run will only last for 5mins...in races or if you are doin tagaytay rides, its mostly a 10 to 15min run per section or stops.. my suggetion for you is go for lighter fullface hemets, rather than the vent thing.. if your goin down a DH run, the wind itself will cool your head... and it does not work well if your goin slow.. just like goggles when they get fog when you stop.. but once you back again for the run, it automatically clear it self.. if your ride is more into all mountain ride with long pedaling (like 30min pedaling or more with short steep downs) full face is a real pain in the ass.. just get a regular helmet so you wont overheat.. hehehe, just spend more time and money on exploring and honing your bike skills.. if into DH.. dont mind the vents to much.. look for weight factor.. ;D oh. next stop is to find a cool goggles to much your helmet

Just like donfacundo I use the Azonic T55 & it's sturdy enough for hard headbanging crash. I bought it from Jane See of King's bike shop in Quiapo.

Noob question.... aside from weight, what else differs the full face bike helmet from an MX motorcycle helmet? Would anyone post the weight of their helmet? the reason i ask coz i have an MX helmet and i'm interested to try out DH some time soon. ;D

veeduber- MX helmets are DOT approved and intended for motorized sports and harder impact than those of the mountain bikes, there's a 661 DH helmet thats been approved by DOT just forgot the model

I second the recommendations for Giro Remedy or Azonic Fury for that budget.

In order of prices: Bell Bellistic; Azonic Fury; 661 Comp; Giro Remedy; 661 Charger; 661 Pro Bravo (I'm leaning towards this most)

Oceanrider88, huge apologies. I based the prices from online retailers (I'm in the US). But based on the prices I've seen here & info I've gathered from a friend of mine who came for a visit, the prices are very close to those you'd fine there - if not the same. I failed to notice you're looking to buy it from a local bike shop. Nevertheless, the prices range from $50.00 to $100.00 for the list I wrote. I'm not sure how much the shipping would be to the Philippines (& how long) but it wouldn't hurt to check it out: blueskycycling.com. Good luck on your helmet hunting!

@ oceanrider- dude, its cheaper to buy your helmet here in philippines, no tax and shipping involved, if you're after the number of vents go for Louie Garneau Buzz-2 helmet, thats the one im using now, super cool ventilation

for me, it is ok to use motorcycle helmets like what we've seen in Quiapo for 2-3.5k because sometimes we need to be practical. like my helmet, an index brand (from Bertscout) although it is slight heavy, still cool to wear in our last long ride.
