Buddy,
pls advise on how to tackle nasty rockgardens on a steep slope...foot-tall rocks spaced 1 foot apart ...100 feet long and winding tracks
super difficult for me yung UPLB main race track ...I ll call it the "Cavities Track" giant teeth needing major dental surgery...rockgarden from top to bottom almost
3 endos 4 nose wheelies for me
its like going down the rock garden of Majayjay but much much longer and with turns..and more steep pa!
very frustrating having to stop at short sections

"alpha.... attack rock gardens with: - relaxed arms, legs and hips -always stand on you pedals, never sit on your saddle(pag pumalo yan kasama ka hehe) -let the bike do the work just stay centeredon the pedals -never rest your fingers on the front brake levers......( eto ata tlaga yun) -Never steer with your handlebar...steer with your hips(paturo kayo kay Camba nito) -try arm-pumping(dont fight the suspension play of the bike.... help it with up n down pumping motion from your knees and arms)
** approaching large massive obstacles require proper approach momentum/speed
the slower you approach the higher the probabality that your bike will not make it over the said obstacle,
so if its just a 100 meter majayjay rock garden... just relax
and for rock gardens.... i suggest you tune your suspension according to the course it will help ease the back pain [papa....
if you see arman or robert at dans: tell them i want my shocks soft n slow
for tech riders: on boxxers they do 5w left and 5w right instead of the racing tuning of 5w left and 10w right.... promise papa this will work....
@psyblade...... trans: eh baket naka boxxer ka? hahahaha..... beng beng!

Thanks, Buddy! yup I do most of what you listed except for the two crucial things heheh: not steering with my hips + fork was too soft for the trail The course was about 200 meters of rockgarden pala Robert of DBS was there pa naman... I failed to get his tuning help still twas disorienting having an endo near the beginning of the course pa lang... takes away the focus and confidence a bit @gerryfafa, nasty course you and Bismarck designed talaga brad ...Alvin and the others mouthed off ;D (cute but true words) to brad Bismarck the first time we reached the top ...then again at the bottom Im excited to watch the pros tackle those sections "alpha.... attack rock gardens with: - relaxed arms, legs and hips -always stand on you pedals, never sit on your saddle(pag pumalo yan kasama ka hehe) -let the bike do the work just stay centeredon the pedals -never rest your fingers on the front brake levers......( eto ata tlaga yun) -Never steer with your handlebar...steer with your hips(paturo kayo kay Camba nito) -try arm-pumping(dont fight the suspension play of the bike.... help it with up n down pumping motion from your knees and arms) ** approaching large massive obstacles require proper approach momentum/speed the slower you approach the higher the probabality that your bike will not make it over the said obstacle, so if its just a 100 meter majayjay rock garden... just relax and for rock gardens.... i suggest you tune your suspension according to the course it will help ease the back pain [papa.... if you see arman or robert at dans: tell them i want my shocks soft n slow for tech riders: on boxxers they do 5w left and 5w right instead of the racing tuning of 5w left and 10w right.... promise papa this will work.... @psyblade...... trans: eh baket naka boxxer ka? hahahaha..... beng beng!

Alphabolt- lets just say that the course is not intended for literal bike lovers ( people who hate their bike being scratched ) but for riders who wants to use their bikes and skill to a new level, just what roy cas used to say its the bike's job being scratched

Alphabolt- lets just say that the course is not intended for literal bike lovers ( people who hate their bike being scratched ) but for riders who wants to use their bikes and skill to a new level, just what roy cas used to say its the bike's job being scratched you can say that again, roach! I flew over my bike and I kicked it to the rocks to avoid landing on top of it heheh that s why I got myself a beater DH bike ;D.. I only need to protect the fork stanchions raising the bar => that s why we have race categories IMHO ...coz we consider the limitations of the riders (intended or not) I ve done FDK1 and its 20% the difficulty of that UPLB main racetrack, brad I guess you were there sa FDK1 as well so you know it din

yup was there brad, not to worry brad, next time you'll be in uplb, you can use the smoother line, bismark and r2d2 are working on it, thats the single track line on the right side parallel to the rockies, i'll make the upper part smoother when i get there maybe this holy week if time permits
