Instead using full round bashring,
They only use half ring or less than that as shown in the pic.
and its mounted downward with same 3 bolt pattern or
it can also be mounted to bottom bracket.
This kind of system is best for rocky downhill race since the lower part of the chainring
take much of the abuse. another thing is they save weight.
I notice some of new model DH rig are now shifting to light weight parts and frame.

is it bottom bracket mounted? or bolted on the chain guide plate?
of course its not bolted on the crank, it's not spinning
does e13 sell this half/"taco" bashring? and in COLOR?

I'm not sure about how the pro's do it but I think it's simply a Bashguard cut with a hacksaw and some kind of adapter is made to attach it to the ISCG mounts. Check out this bike: forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=299124&highlight=DemoIt seems like a custom job. I wonder if our local Bike-Machinists can make an adapter for that kind of setup?

E-13 will be coming out with a Taco/Half bash for next year to be paired with the light guides, but knowing PINOY excellence and talent I know it can be done. some of the bikes I see here with that is either a prototype or a rig job (custom) u guys can use old shimano saint or truvativ bashrings and cut it just have to figure out a mounting bracket, anyway If I see one here I will take a close up pic of how it is done maybe that will help

What enginnering tektek u talikng about? hehehehehehehehe WTF ......... special riders? my half bash ring is arriving anyway, i shared with someone out there over the rainbow. see email below from e13 for you "special riders" out there?: Currently the quarter bash is just cut from a regular supercharger (you can get 2 per bash). It will then mount to the backplate on the opposite side as the plastics, logo side facing the drive side and the bolts will bount in their countersunk mounting tabs. Ritche, I'll start working with mine. What do you want to have? Clear? Para kita pa rin yung LOGO coz it has to face the driveside, just like the one a saw in the new MBUK magazine? Or you can have it in black.

edwin, as per pareng derek's email
you just buy the e13 regular bash guard and hacksaw it into two pieces 2 with 2 mounting holes on each half.
give the other half to me (joke).
and mount the other half on your e13 LG1 plate on two
mounting tabs using 2 long chainring bolts.

Ritche, Here's what I came up with after experimenting on where to cut the bash ring to fit my frame but still I ended up short on one end. It has enough coverage though. I guess the cut will vary according to the frame your using and the position of the backplate. You'll be filing off some portion of the bash ring to fine tune the fit. The Makrolon plastic is very hard so if you have to take out bigger portions of it, use a dremel tool or a grinder to do it. I've used a flat file and it took me hours to finish. Hay naku! Anyway, here's some photos: the finish half taco (looks like a 1/3 taco to me. ;D).... Installed using the extra long crank bolts supplied by e13.... with the crankset re-installed..... underside view.... finished....

Weight savings talaga, a light reliable chain guide, with a half bash guard cut into half.
