guys... why do you have to race? what satisfaction does racing gives you? and if you lose...does it hurt? honest answers pls... a bike was born to do something. bring you to work, make you jump an obstacle, make those drops, make you go DH or uphill. whatever the reason is, you set a goal or somebody does that for you. goals that you set for yourself, that's either easy or impossible. if somebody else goes faster than you, wouldnt it be nice to find out how fast can you go? no man is an island i guess. so go out and ride! ;D losing? everybody loses. its like tour de france or like any other tournament. there can only be one winner out of 200 or 500. but as long as you've given your best, ok na yun. so imagine if it hurts so bad then how about the other who lost? do you think they'd quit right away? the idea is you train harder and not giving up. that's the value of experience/ joining races. besides, did you know how many races lance armstrong joined before he got to the top? in short, losing is part of winning. ;D for me, its like love. ;D its better to have loved someone than never giving love a shot in the first place. . who knows, she might fall in love with you as well.

I thought the only one you love is youreself hehehehe.... peace man ;D for me I join races to know my limits, to know if I improved my skills, I don't care if I lose or win, but it feels better If I win

ako ngayon lang nanalo (2000 pa ko noh!)... nyahahahahahahahaha!!!!
sometimes you win, most of the time you lose... important thing is you enjoy the ride, like most of the dh riders, it doesn't really matter basta enjoy lang kami...
it also makes us happy lalo na kung umaangat ang rankings namin, why? because u see the improvement of your riding skills...
and also the Asaran part ng mga DH riders, as you saw it in the recent bataan race, matindi kulitan... yun yung talagang masaya...
who won?................................................ Lahat Tayo!
happy? Fun? don't be sad... be happy! mang-asar ka kung kinakailangan... dahil masaya... that's the story of philippine DH, di mo kailangan malungkot...

i think its a primal thing...to strive to be better...its in everyone of us...its just that some people have a stronger urge to race than the others...because racing with bikes is their passion, its their "thing"...i think its no different than that guy beating another in a game of counterstrike...only its not as physical. i never take the fun out of racing...it should be fun, otherwise ayawan na hehe! ;D...i always try not to put too much pressure on myself and i think i perform much better that way...winning for me is already a bonus for i dont have the time to train as much as the others...if i win, wow! lose, it's ok... i had fun racing.

For the fun (masaya kaya kasama DHiller's makukulit.... hehehe), for the fitness, and especially for the skill you gain (you'll have great reflex when you race)....
It's always against yourself. Knowing you have improve from the last time is good enough no matter how small it is....I lose a lot so I learn to lose gracefully... win or lose your having fun...

;Dyou can't be just a spectator in your lifetime, one way or another you will join a race.
one reason is Travel >Road trips is fun, like a tourist.
-the whorehouse in B1. barangay Uno, the Empanada lonaganissa in Batac, and that snorkling in sipalay.
racing dh brought me friends/ contacts in the provinces. example.
when there's no race:
"Aki, Nuy, were here in baguio, pa assist find us a cheap hotel, or can we stay in your place"
"Wendell, we are here now dumaguete airport, pasundo" (fetch)
"Gerry, Roan were going to majayjay falls, magluto na kayo" (cook food)
or in Manila,
"Ado, or Bans give me some discount" pwede 3 gives? hehehe.
"Jong, or Eboy (coach) DH kayo? pasabay. (hitch ride).

How else can we show others what could be achieved with the right mindset, the right training and the right attitude? Without races, we'll never know how we are doing relative to the rest of the pack. Without races, we'd be hearing everybody saying: "I'm the best! the fastest! the strongest!" With races, you get to know where you stand. And it provides the driving force to do better next time. For glory and self-content. So always set a goal, and aim high! "If you aim at nothing, you hit it!"

Moi, I'm going to race cuz I simply want to try it out. Not to compete with anyone else, but only to compete against myself. Plus, I think it's a great chance to meet you guys over a couple of beers.
Hey Alphabot! What if you don't intend to podium, but inadvertently you do?
I've got a tent, but I think I need one of those tents you use during All Saints/Souls Day. Gadgets, got any for sale? The fold and go ones.
