what will happen to you/bike if you drop(4-5feet) on flat surface(hard soil naman)? and is it better to land both wheels at the same time or the back wheel first?

this is what Joey Barba told me , rear wheel first or both at the same time. the faster the better as it absorbs the vertical impact better. too bad duwag ako

On drops to flat, definitely rear wheel first. Drops to tranny, both wheel at the same time.

it really depends
a trial like drop usually lands rear wheel first, but when you plan to hit the drop with such speed both tires must land at the same time para dehins kaldag at iwas accident
some hardtail riders uses the fork's suspension to absorb the impact.

Rear wheel first!!! the faster the better!!! pag mabagal use both wheels in the same time para safe ang landing, pwede i-apply kahit anung klaseng drop...make practice in side walk, make in high speed then try at low speed..(remember this: Mas mababa ang drop dilikado mas mataas na drop safe ka) ask your self.. why?

i like to go faster when i'm doing drops... why? coz if i go slowly i may chicken out and slam the brake... better committed than wishy-washy. also u lessen the time for the front wheel to drop first... but u can pull up or wheelie drop it and take it as slow as u want. landing to flat is not fun... find another drop. trials riders love it... but mtn bikers usually have trannies.

it depends on the design of the drop. to know how to do it., follow this procedure: 1. find a nice cozy place near the drop, 2. Sit there, relax, and look straightly on the drop, observe.... 3. Observe mo yung PRO Rider, mag-drop na... 4. Gayahin mo.... hehehe

drops to flat are the sickest ;D
although it's relative, pag HT rear first. but with FS kahit sabay will be fine, that applies to 4-6ft drops just make sure your suspension (front and rear) will soak it up, plus your skills syempre swabe ang bagsak dapat. drops as high as your house is a different story, must have a tranny. frame breaker and skull, too if dropped to flat ;D

why asking? r u pushing your bike off a cliff somewhere?
be avised, this type of jump anji is done by professional freeriders with experience and bike skills period!
Please do not attemp.
R u wiling to sacrifice your limbs/life?do you have medical insurance, money for surgery /hospital bills?,
anyway if you do it, at payagan ka ng mga mahal mo sa buhay.
kung may tranny, drop your front wheel first to match the landing angle or slope,
if flat landing, rear wheel first.
hehehehehe good luck,

Depende pag HT (rear first), pag FS two wheels sabay. I'd like to add there is aslo the speed factor as Louie suggested. for high speed drops idealy both wheels touch the landing area at the same time, for you to stabilize as soon as you can. that is if your legs and arms can handle such drops. Then pedal hard like there is no tomorrow when you land! Yahooooo! hehe.

landing? hmmmmmmmmm according to the archives lolx i hav the suckiest record of landing........... ;D but anyway........landing safely requires speed....... 4-6 feet u can land both wheels at the same time just remember to catch the impact with ur knees.........itll hurt at first but it takes a matter o gettin used to..... 7-12ft rear wheel go 10-20kmh cuz ur inertia will help soften ur impact............ anything over 15ft? full face body armor.....go try stuff...spice up your day......unleash your demons... ;D i was goin 25-30 mph when i hucked my brains off a 30 footer............ lolx i landed in the flat area its cool tho........... ehihihihihihih
