It was you we saw last saturday. You are wearing army green hard shell helmet. It was my friend you asked for direction going to sabak. Nice seeing you there ma'am.

me, ron and lestat smelled the track yesterday and we were not disappointed though, the track sure smells challenging and pure XC mtbiking fun i doubt a 25 lap minimum on SS though, with those sudden climbs (mga 4-5x yata) were you have to crank and stand-up to deliver, that sure smell cramps on 25 laps hehehe. 15 laps on SS seems to be (patiently) doable good luck to the 12hr racers, promise i'll be there to cheer for you ;D

Guys...for those who want to join the race but don't have time to visit the shops to register...you can print the form and fax/email to sabak at 819-1733 or sabaksports@mydestiny.net....pls include the deposit slip as well for the entry fee. Bank details are as follows: Sabak Sports Inc. BPI Magallanes Branch CA# 0081057621 RCBC Sta Rosa Branch CA# 0318801657 Thanks! See you Saturday! Hi Titusx! Some riders are asking if you will allow registration and payments during race day itself. I guess some of them are reluctant to pay up prior to the race due to the erratic weather and the fact that it's non refundable. I hope you can consider this as I'm sure it will benefit a vast majority ;D

Or what would you advice? thanks

32x17 should be OK. 32x18 on a 26er would be ideal, I think. There are only two long straights where out-and-out speed would matter. If you can maintain your momentum and accelerate out of the turns on 32x18, that'd keep your legs fresh, I think. (Hoping that the course will dry up, and smoothen out a bit, by raceday)
If you can do 4 laps an hour (including a pit stop, or two, even), I'd like to think you'd easily make the cutoff (25 laps or whatnot) before dark.

hi agu saw you last sunday (past 2pm) when you entered westgate (?) and turned left.me, ron and lestat were having some snack at brother's burger after our trackread ;D that's actually my concern, "accelarating ang gaining momentum", i doubt if it's doable during race proper with that traffic of participants in the climb portions ;D anyways not joining naman, just trackreading for the future when i have developed them legs and lungs goodluck brad!!! @charles : yup, me, ron and lestat did proceed to alabang from PICC halfway thru the B4R.....to smell the track 32x17 should be OK. 32x18 on a 26er would be ideal, I think. Hey Sabakeros, can you do age grouping for the solo racers? No prizes needed for top finishers per category. Just acknowledgment okay na. Just reserve the prizes for the over-all finishers with the most laps(that's what it's all about naman - matira matibay (last man standing? ) It's a given that the real hardcore mtbikers will slug it out for the over-all spots. But for us mere mortals; i.e weekend warriors, at the very least, it will provide some motivation naman to grind it out to get the minimum laps and then some. Ramon....solo ka na

Hi guys...
On site registration will probably begin around 7am so we'll have enough time to process before the race begins. I understand your apprehensions but Ricky M assured us that he will try to make the course all weather as much as possible.
Pls note that we will only have a maximum number of race participants for this event and once we have reached it we will not accept any more registrations. Hope you guys understand....safety lang naman. As of now we're thinking of having 200 participants max given the size/length of the track and so far half of the slots are filled with riders who have registered and those who have "signified" their intention of joining the race.
With regards to the "category" request as posted by jzrm...we will be printing certificates for the finishers and will include their age category as well as their steeds (whether it be a geared MTB... SS... BMX... Banana Bike... Pedicab...etc etc) on the certificate.
Thanks for all the inputs and support...hope to see you guys Saturday!

titusx,
I was just wondering, how do I go about "signifying my intention to join?" I simply don't have time to pay and fax but I surely want to join. I'm sure I'm not alone in this as many of our friends here are busy with their 9-5 jobs.
Also, I would like to follow up on King's inquiry on cash prizes. Not that I am hoping to win... the information is for a friend.
Thanks padre!

I think it's 3-1 I can't stay the full 12hrs anyway. Have to put in some family time also. So, you can make up the laps while I'm away. ;D See ya race day buddy!!!

Hey Brusko...there were people who "signified their intentions" to join the race....meaning... they confirmed and will settle the fees by friday. You can always do the same by calling the shop. However come Saturday all unpaid slots will be opened to on site registrants.
As much we want to accomodate everybody dyahe rin to those who registered early and prepared for it. TIA.

Heyheyhey Jimmy my racer idol! It seems you and Ramon have been training real hard for this race...I ve heard you ve both done many training sessions sa ibang trails ... have those tubeless wheelset prepped well k...flats gallore daw...it just might spell the diff Arnel, if you consider riding once a week, eating buko, having a smoke, eating lugaw with egg and 3 veggie spring rolls and then having another smoke and then looking for the easiest way back (i.e. least amount of climbs) to the car as training real hard, then Ramon had better watch out!!! Flats??? If you're running tubes, maybe from pinch flats due to the millions of stutter bumps. But I'm on tubeless so no danger of that. Still, thanks for the heads-up
