Grnhrnt, there are guards there who can point you in the right direction. But if not, turn right after Petron, and you can enter the course right after the corner from the curb. According to the guard you follow it counter clockwise

Guys, I have tried the race trail kanina, kahit raining. Sarap din ng trail, technical sya and challenging like mga sudden uphill after downhill, sudden curve then uphill after downhill, roller coaster type, etc., as per boy, the trail will need to be pressed pa (pison)., so by that time, I think ok na ok na sya... ok itong trail na ito, ang lapit sa amin , pwedeng pag short ride... from house 12kms balikan so tapos plus kung ilang ikot ka.. ang isang lap is 2.66 kms. sarap na mahirap! Sorry I wasn't able to take pics kasi umuulan kanina.. siguro next time... good luck guys! Charles

The trail is at the back of Petron, but the entrance will be on the next street after Petron. You can also just park in WestGate and just cross the street to the trail head. Regards, Charles

I tried to ride the track today, Norman was right, no need for guides you can pretty much just follow the course, too bad some portions were unrideable as of 7 am this morning, most was manageable but some really packed up the mud! so I went around once, pushed and carried my bike over unridealbe portions, stopped several times to clean out the mud.
looking forward to it drying up some and going at it for 12 hrs!
If the sun holds up today till tom morn, I think the track will be rideable over the weekend.

The course is very easy to follow. Beware of the mud though. Muntinlupa mud is notoriously sticky. Ride on a dry day. It's still bumpy but definitly ridable. I'm pretty sure it's going to be full of riders tearing up the track this weekend. (if it doesn't rain) I hear that the organizers may have a "pison" run over the track to pack the dirt. That would be kick a**! Hopefully after the track gets ripped up after the weekend though. Warning: Bring extra tubes. Flats are super common because of all the debris lying around, and the nasty roots left by the folliage. Don't enter from the petron side, there's a temptingly steep incline there waiting to be climbed, but you will face the 'curb of death'. I've had my brad do a faceplant there and I've recieved two pinch flats. hehehe

how was the course today, guys? i hope those newly bulldozed sections are now rideable. maybe they can add some sand and gravel before they pack it to make it a little more rideable if it rains again? i probably wont get to pre-ride it anymore. i guess we'll get the hang of it after the first hour anyway...

The course was nice today. No mud at all. Was able to ride the whole course clipped in, only dabbed once. Fairly technical on some portions, only due to the ruts that the bike tires left during muddier conditions. A very fun track, hope they maintain it the whole year round.

Yesterday we had the chance to ride this track. It was a short track with a total distance of 2.6+ kilometers. A challenging track because of the switch backs and curve aproach short climb. All-in-all a great fun ride we had.

Checked out the course this afternoon with Vic P. Lots of turns, short climbs and rutted descents. Plus a long backstraight that no doubt will be the prime spot to make up places. Mostly stutterbumps and washboards to deal with. Some descents may get a bit gnarly especially as the race progresses. Some observations: 1) hardtail-friendly, provided you run wide tire or lower your rear tire pressure to smooth out the bumps and save your back. 2) course benefits efficient, short-travel XC rigs 3) if it's dry, consider semi-slicks 4) a good pace would probably be iaround 10-12 minutes per 2.7km lap 5) you'll need to pick good, smooth lines to maintain momentum - especially in the hairpin turns. Most descents end up with a sharp turn to a short, steep climb. 6) you can probably ditch your granny and big rings 7) keep an eye on the weather for what it's worth, I rode a rigid 29er with 32:18 gearing. Sabak may put in SS category, just check with them.

Ya they might reduce the minimum number of laps for SS riders...but 25 laps should be doable

Kudos to the boys of Sabak - great race course. As 32by18 said, washboards/stutter bumbs abound. If the distance won't get you, it'll be the those wb/sb. It should be interesting once it gets dark Hey rick, can you say "berms" ;D
