there's still a large area within the grounds of the ecopark, and i doubt that the biking/running pth will be the one used. hopefully though they'll be able to find at least a 4km loop in there.

ghorio - as per update says, venue has been moved to the EcoPark, yeah that's the littler one right at the dam @king - yeah same here, hopefully they open the no-bike sections too, like the one at amphitheater. surely this race's pace would be a faster one.

(licao-licao-macabud loop?) hehehe

I used to picnic with some friends in eco park and if the race will be in the ecopark mismo then that really sucks. Because comparing it to the places we've been biking like Licaolicao, Maarat DRT etc., etc. that place is like a child's playground. I think it's not even 2km. It feels more like a 1 km. loop trail or maybe even less. I'm reffering to the bike trail inside ecopark.

i must admit that more than half of the reason why we are joining the race is for the fun side of it...lets wait a while and see what organizer will prepare (if that's possible) for the racers before we decide what to do next ( to join or not).
this development is not welcome to me as well.

maybe they'll include 6foot drops, berms, ladders, jumps, rails to compensate for the excitement lost ;D ;D ;D ;D

or they might put crocodiles, booby traps, quicksand pits, tar pits, and cannibals along the short route to weed out more than half of the participants in the first loop! how exciting!

I'm leaning towards not joining since they moved the venue. I'll decide whether to join or not once the course is finalized. Anything shorter than a 5 or 6 km would make the pace too fast imho.

Less than 2kms trail? We will all be dizzy before we reached 24hrs. If thumbie is looking for an alternative xc trail for 24 hrs mtb race, we have a 6kms off-road trail here in UPLB. It's located in IPB field and its perfect for xc mtb race. The PinoyMTBiker guys and gals who went to hidden valley surely passed this trail before (remember the trail where lenard led you to the dried up creek)

reading from this thread...... do we need to join at all? nye... nobody needs to join. it's not like we're required or something. i, for one, will still join no matter the hiccups, though. first time to join something like this, am not going to let uncontollable circumstances push me away
