Dudes, Every race i attended and joined--road, mountain, tri, etc.--we tolerate "manghaharang" or racers that are overdue in their category. It's a virus that surrounds road racing, and it's been hounding mountain biking. Let's not single out "jong" of downhill racing, he deserves to be in the pro-rank because of his results and his desire and determination to win. In the XC ranks, ganun din! Ang gurang na sa karera nandun pa rin sa category nya. I think in the downhill pro ranks, James, Boyet, Joel-haooh etc. are long over due. I think they have the capability to excel in the pros but can WIN it in the executive or veterans to make racing more spicy. A lot of racers will disagree but a lot of racers would like to take their chances too. Until now we still have the "forever" beginners. I think racing will progress if we give chance to others especially the younger/crossovers/speculators/wannabees to race in their respective categories. I've been racing downhill since the early 90's. I've raced against Borja, Arjuna, Sardea, Montelibano and Camba. I'm proud to be racing and losing to these guys and i know i trained, spilled and poured my heart out just to stick my name next to theirs. I can't be proud of medals i won til i retire if i my racing stint were all battled and won in the beginnners class! Let's all grow up boys! Just my 2 priceless opinion....

i agree with yetiman, i think it would be awkward if a 15 year old race against a 33 year old beginer. there's nothing wrong with that. what's wrong is that, a racer race in the beginers class for 5 years and still wants to race on that category for another five years.
it's all about progression boys, you won't progress if you don't push yourself. and besides, i think it's better to loose against a 15 year old novice than a 33 year old beginer.

all sandbaggers, please register in your proper skill level.
all sandbaggers, please register in your proper skill level.
" I want a medal or trophy so bad" i'll join beginners. that's the main thinking here. or just plain chicken shite!!!!
" Lugi pera ko dyan" or " ala akong pag-asang me mauwi dyan" freakin' mentality.
It sucks but will not stop happening, let's all help Yetiman during races to put riders in the right categories, will this lower the participants? for sure. will the competitors enjoy it? d@mn sure.
Or put up a category that is called " forever beginners" na lang???

u have to cut it first nyahehehehehe joke
.......................................................... sad to say, what, its' 9 to 10 years? of pinoydhracing, closing of '06 na and still no governing organization,
Org, - to supervise races, - approve dh courses (not on mx tracks, we dont have motors), to implement the long unwritten rules, - to categorize the riders with his skill and experience. - fix shcheduled year round races with point system, etc.
i hope meron na in my dreams hehehe, sayang kasi,
'coz dh racing is here to stay (tatagal 'to), we're lucky to have mga "future of pinoy dh racing" pro/ expert riders in his early and below 20's (joey, jeff, pao) who will carry on the sport we love.

dapat again, another meeting should be organized and it should be again to discuss the unwritten rules and also some issues regarding race organizing and implementation of what, where and when, and also knowing the difference between noun and pro-noun, using adjectives and adverbs, etc... wow pare hangover sa swimming...
u know what i mean?
information distribution of "these" rules is also an issue, but with the help of e-mail, bike websites, and forums... mas mapapadali na ito... we can also send copies of it in bike shops, magkano lang naman magpa-xerox sa taft. chip-in na lang siguro or kung may mag-sponsor pwede na agad magawa di ba?
i guess it's time to refresh and again re-organize the rules that had been talked about after a year ago after the DOWNHILL IDOL incident...
DH RIDERS CONVENTION.... when ulit? this should be at least done yearly... tayo-tayo na nga lang di pa natin magawa? eh dumarami na tayo di ba? sayang ang effort natin kung di natin gagawin...
BEER PA NGA!
