A very exciting and extreme DH Race is to be marked on your race calendars, The ReUnion DH Cup which will be held at the James What / Patiis Trails in Maarat San Mateo rizal Philippines. The upcoming race was conceptualized by the DH Crew and was set a date on September 10, 2006. The Patiis Trail is now one of the most extreme and challenging trails in San Mateo rizal. It is located in Mt. Mataba sitio Patiis, Brgy. Malanday San Mateo Rizal. It consists of ruts, mud, hard soil, and a lot of long razor sharp rock gardens including slippery sections covered with algae. Registration fee will be P350.00 inclusive of a free meal and race t-shirt, also 10 Bicycles will be donated to KAPUSO FOUNDATION GMA 7. The trail is now being prepared by the organizers by adding some hip jumps and some more surprises for our riders to make the trail more exciting and fun. The Patiis trails is always open for riders who wants to practice and prepare for the upcoming event. This event is brought to you by the DH CREW in cooperation with San Mateo Mountain Bike Club. i tried the trail yesterday. nasty indeed... rutty, rocky, loose soil/small sharp rocks, uber steep trail. this is gonna be fun.. and yes, the 15footer(?) gap before the finish would be for the pros and novice - if mali ang diskarte, salpok sa pader ng bundok ung rider... this gonna be an interesting race.. and for the beginner option, watch out for the sharp turn in the small make-shift bridge, there's this 5ft bangin - never ever make the mistake that i did of "making tukod"... costed me my back -- as i fell with my bike - thank God for the bushes, it softened the blow as tumama ung likod ko sa bato (i really really need body armor with spine protection for these trails!) arnel, only a few spots for a good view on the race eh, one would be on the finish line.. next would be after the gap, and the other one would be on the bahay kubo near "pinagbuhatan" (the rocky trail where most riders "buhat" their bikes) hehehe..

arnel......view spot likewise u video me over here! OK! last saturday was lots of fun DH prak......group of haooh, baguio boys etc (dami riders) dunno their names...... from that spot (view deck = "huling paalam") before reaching the berm a guy lost control......he rolled 3x & his bike flying over him..... got bruises partly all over his body also he got "bukel" but no broken bones......GOD BLESS U!......but unfortunately MR. DH CREW allan "Graves" morales......same spot.....suffer clavicle injury......nothing too seroius he'll LIVE! ;D......his bike daw for sale na!.......anyways protect yourself @ all times.......CONDOM its a must! ;D....... the Combat guys of Cagayan de Oro (Mindanao Region) will coming over!......watch out likewsie the pipol from the North Laoag etc! any Visayas representative?! Paging mga Bai diha? 6 days to go....... are u ready!?

just a reminder to the racers be carefull this track must be taken seriously. wear safety gears, specially a full face helmet, if you don't have any, barrow from someone you know or a moto helmet would do just fine.
a rider yesterday crashed without a helmet. he's alright but i guess "wala na syang mukhang maihaharap"
ride safe
