Mtbrider06 PMed me tonight and broke the sad news that rkoa (our PinoyMTBiker resident of Sta Rosa) endoed and broke his collarbone somewhere up the trails of Sta Rosa. All I know rkoa was rushed to the hospital to be taken care of.
Hay naku. Another broken clavicle in our growing list of fractured collarbone incidents:
1. FaFaRocky 2. Hance 3. Erica 4. Rkoa
This is all I can post for the moment. Hopefully, rkoa's riding buddies today can give us more details of what happened.

me too actually, back in '03. they heal pretty quickly, and often without surgery. get well soon rkoa! you should be back on the bike in a couple of months. * clavicles are the most often bones broken by cyclists Mtbrider06 PMed me tonight and broke the sad news that rkoa (our PinoyMTBiker resident of Sta Rosa) endoed and broke his collarbone somewhere up the trails of Sta Rosa. Hey King.
Good news is I am mtbiking Licao-Licao, Tungkong Mangga, and rocky road trails again for the past two weeks. It took me 10 weeks to be able to bike back fully. Versus the 6 weeks it took you to go back to the saddle again. I guess my fracture was more severe than yours? And you are younger and just stronger than moi that is why you healed faster.
Anyway, point is we will heal eventually... rkoa.. Just be patient. Hang on. Don't sell nor give away your bike. Consider broken clavicle as an opportunity for you to slow down and rest from mtbiking your hometurf of Sta Rosa trails.

rkoa now going to work with sling. He got dislocated shoulder and cracked bone. The good news he got a driver coz his doctor did not yet gave clearance to drive even though the left shoulder was endured.
he needed 3 months to recover before he can gradually go back to ride.

And you are younger and just stronger than moi that is why you healed faster. That's one of the realities of getting older... you can keep your strength and endurance and skill at a high level, but when you get hurt it takes longer to heal, period. Nothing to be done about it, just the way it is... good reason for getting a little risk-averse as 40 fades into the dim distant past.
