sirs and madams,
i was just wondering cause everytime im on bike and doing sprinting or climbing a steep hill, the area just below my right rib cage feels very strange and it hurts everytime i take a deep breath. and the pain will just pass after i recover of about 2 or 3 minutes.
whats wrong with it?
please help..cause it is what making me stop pedalling for a while and it really is painful.

thanks sir, i tried it yesterday and it was very effective. i should be focusing more on breathing and more time in biking. and maybe because im still a newbie..hehe
anyways thanks a lot..twas really a big help.

Wurmer ... just relax when you are climbing. Treat it just like you are biking on flat terrain. Resist the temptation to hammer and do all out sprinting (which makes you breathless) unless you are near the top of the climb. Do it slowly but surely first in a small gear. You will naturally go faster as you will be able to climb on a bigger gear when your legs and heart become stronger.

@ hyperion - thanks sir, i really appreciated your advise..well maybe i should practice more on higher cadence... and maybe you're right sir...i would still have to develop my leg muscles and heart....and lungs too..:-)

I had that problem when I started coz of my tendency to mash without breathing in sync
I bet you feel woozy near the top ...that s the lack of oxygen vs the effort you exerted (or forced)
