Docs in-house...need your opinion please My trials days (puny, trying-hard) are over...and now my singlespeedin' seems to be ending soon too. I've noticed for the past few weeks that the "wristbone", or whatever it's called, in my right hand is already protruding when I bend it backward. It doesn't hurt but I'm concerned the bone may eventually break from its joint if I continue my riding style or singlespeeding. I'll have this checked by an ortho doc, I would appreciate it very much if you can give me your advise also

jibber,
what you have is called TENDON CYST, it is benign and recurrence when excised is up to 20%. to be more precise let me answer questions I am supposed to ask you: any previous trauma on your wrist? usually none, dislocation is out, is the mass hard and fixed? usually rubbery and mobile, its not bone. the cyst arises from the tendon thus the name, usually deep seated, if excision is not complete thus the high recurrence rate.
no need to worry. ride hard, ride safe.

jibber, boyet of john wilkie has the same (as described by okidok). he had it drained but it came back. it doesn't bother him either but a doctor (coincidentally my ortho) offered to take it out anyway so he might have it done.

Jibbs, get a softer mouse pad ;D ;D ;D. Likewise, I also don't see anything close to dangerous with that little cyst of yours. So keep on riding. jason

Jibber, why don't you consult Boyet of John wilkie? If what you have both in common is the same (hmm... did I say it right?) then that should give some relief. Do get professional attention just to be sure. Getting old is bad enough... getting old and not being able to be with your (biking) friends is the worst! I once had a delibitating pain on my wrist, I was telling myself it must be carpal tunnel for playing with the mouse too much, until I consulted a doctor (who happens to be a golfer) and said: "you're learning to play golf, aren't you?" Yon pala... I should NOT try too hard. Problem solved. ;D Moral: Trying hard are for young people...

Jibberman, Jibberman, Does whatever a Jibber can. Spins a gear, any size. Catches wind - just like that. Look out! Here comes the Jibberman.
Is he strong? Listen, bud. He's got radioactive blood. Can he swing, from a thread? Take a look overhead. Hey, there! There goes the Jibberman!
In the uphill of a-climb, at the scene of a ride, in a river cross, he just flow with the tide!
Jibberman, Jibberman, friendly neighborhood Jibberman. Sweat and pain? He ignores. Action is his reward. Look out! There goes the Jibberman!
To him, life is a great big hellride. Wherever there's an invite, you'll find the Jibberman!
The composition bug bit me! Couldn't help it... Enjoy! I hope. ;D

as long as it doesn't hurt,
if it hurts with it's movements it means that it's over strained, when the pain is like long and it got swells you may have a fractur or torn up ligaments, but if it doesn't hurt, it's the just the way of our body adapting to what's it doing.
