well, i drink green tea too but not like your dosage, i dont think its your muscles being burned, i think it has to do with dehydration since its a diuretic so it make you pee more and it really does help in breaking down fats

been drinking green tea for well maybe 2 years now... Sir Petes right... it makes you pee more often... I think it is not burning your muscle... are you still drinking water aside from your tea... if not...probably you are facing a bit of dehydration... better try to hydrate again...
by the way I only drink green tea after lunch and dinner...

Explanation: Tea blocks the absorption of nutrients in varying degrees. That's why some tea leaves are considered slimming. Why do you feel better with tea? Tea is also a good mouthwash (also try water with rock salt or water with ginger). Kills bacteria in your system. Muscle atrophy occurs with non-use, not tea related. Either that or you didn't have big muscles in the first place. You just used to be bloated, what you see now is what you got. ;D well, i drink green tea too but not like your dosage, i dont think its your muscles being burned, i think it has to do with dehydration since its a diuretic so it make you pee more and it really does help in breaking down fats It's the first time I'm going too give the pimp a passing score (50% or C++) in chemistry for using the correct term: Diuretic. Coffee, buko juice, tea are diuretics. They increase the flow of urine, making you lose body water. You get lighter, muscles get ripped and appears defined with the absence of water. Bodybuilders carboload few weeks before competition, and pump like hell to fine tune the muscles. The week before competition, they control salt intake and fluid intake. If desperate, they start taking diuretics. Of course they get weak in the process, which is a contradiction in most sports, because they look good 100% with zero stamina during competition day. Correction: you don't burn fat by drinking tea. You lose fat by expending more calories vis-a-vis absorption and/or Exercise. Creating bigger muscles eats up the fat, btw. Anything too much is counterproductive. so drink tea or water in moderation. The key is finding out what is enough and too much.

Two cups of tea a day is recommended to get the medicinal (good) effects, so I make two cups my USDA minimum daily requirement. My kidney transplant center told me tea is considered a clear liquid like water for cleansing the kidney. I drink green tea occasionally, but prefer the black. I know, the black is not as good for you.

i'm a green tea lover too! 1 cup during breakfast and another before bedtime. sometimes if i can have it after having lunch, i'll do.
@gadgets - sir, since green tea is diuretic, isn't it adviseable to have it the night before a ride or in the morning before a ride since you get to pee more?
TIA

okay, this is about tea but slightly OT: you know how the water in your water bottle gets warm during a ride, and when you drink it its not so satisfying (because water is better if its cold)? i know someone who brings tea instead of water during a ride, because he says tea tastes okay even when warm, unlike water. haven't tried it though.

TIA Last Sunday, I attended a birthday party lunchtime at Teriyaki Boy Resto. When I arrived, I saw a tall lady in uniform and had her ID tag with the word MANAGER on it. I tried my luck and told her: "Ma'am, medyo nauuhaw ako, meron bang drinks?" Trans: I'm kind of thirsty, any drinks? She then quickly told her staff to pour me a glass of iced tea. My friend who saw my drink decided to pull the same stunt. When he went to the food counter and said the same thing, all he got was a glass of ice water. ;D So I decided to spend the whole time flirting with the lady manager and probably drank 4 glasses of iced tea all in all. The problem was my tonsils decided to hit me the next day. I couldn't eat and talk much for 2 days. My self-therapy included gargling with mouthwash every night, herbal medicine and no fried foods until the situation clears up. Last night I drank 2 tall glasses of hot tea. Had to pee every 90 minutes or so in the middle of the night. I'm not going to repeat this experiment. Darn splitting headache it gave me the next day. So there's your answer, Lui-g. No tea before bedtime unless waking up every other hour is okay. No tea before a ride unless you can stop anytime to relieve yourself. Filling your bladder to maximum is not a good idea!
