ay may mood swings? ;D seriously ENZO 1 1/2 packs a day is heavy! i'm at 4-6 sticks/day, work days only. weekends i don't even crave. i feel ill when i smoke more than that. baka homesick ka lang? uwi ka na kasi! ;D have you tried butong-pakwan? Watermelon seeds rocks!! then I dont need to use my bite valve cover ;D One lady asked me the other day if im in love with her. Why? coz Im always sighing or exhaling deeply. It's the cigarettes. I used to do some sessions of the Arabic water pipe(SHEESHA, HOOKA, HUBBLY BUBBLY). One session is equivalent to a pack of cigarettes in 1 hour, does this 3x a week aside from my 1 1/2 pack a day. The numbness of my left chest made me quit.

haha you have daring female friends ENZO ;D there are restaurants in manila with a hooka, pero when i try them parang walang effect? minsan talaga no amount of reason would convince you to quit, but one day you start feeling something's wrong with your body, it scares the hell out of you, then you quit. minsan i refrain from lighting (basta hawak ko lang) when i imagine pinpricks in my head ("yay! am i having a stroke?"). nothing beats being scared sh*t ;D

Whoopi,
Maybe the one you tried is not the original substance they are using here.
I've been smoking on and off and at some point really heavily, inhaled some weed and snorted a couple of substance before, but this hooka is really potent. Gives you that light headed feeling like other substance but with a flavor. Really fruity.
The other day, everyone's asking why Im losing weight. Is it the smoking? lack of proper food? over training? Atkins? I told them Im into fruits diet nowadays. There's Apple, Cherry, Peaches and Strawberry.

hmmmm i dunno, this restau is supposed to serve "authentic" middle eastern cuisine, and the whatchamacallits (the thing that you burn, the one that's flavored) for the hooka are in arabic packages pa. supposedly hooka is "healthier" than regular cigarettes, because of the low nicotine content (at least that's what it says in the restuarant menu haha).
let me guess, Apple, Cherry, Peaches and Strawberry are your new friends ;D

See, 4 weeks plus Im into this smoking again, with hooka, 4 days I will dead. Tabako pa rin yan and it's not low nicotine hah. Is Ginger a fruit?

what? being a snob? ;D ;D ;D No! The idea of the mods putting a smoking ban. Save the earth! ahh... i thought the creation of a new forum as suggested by brusko. why not just let smokers smoke as much as they want...give them government subsidy...until they all die...then there will be no more smokers and the rest of the world will live happily ever after, smoke free? what do you think of that? enzo, i think Ginger is a former member of spice girls.

i want to quit, really. can the Mods impose an "unwritten" smoking ban on PinoyMTBiker folks during rides? just a small suggestion...kahiyaan na lang pag di sumunod. I suggest you put up your own forum and ban smoking there- whether online or IRL. Truthfully, this is the most absurd suggestion I've heard. Is this to help other smokers quit, or to help yourself? both

just quit again two weeks ago, it was my birthday resolution, plus my wife has been pleading that i stop for my health's sake, smoked a lot for year and so now i decided to stop again to appease the wife an also to save on about half a pack a day or P20.00 /day = to P140.00/week = P560.00/month = P6,720.00/year whew!!!, prior to that ive smoked and quit several times sometimes wont smoke for two years then pick up the habit again ( lousy really), in BMB there was (or is) an unwritten rule that on group rides, smokers are discouraged from lighting up, specially if wearing the group jersey. pero sa tambayan, while not in gear, you can smoke all you want ,provided non smokers are not subject to second hand smoke. stopping in increments is not advisable if you want to stop, just decide on it then do it, go cold turkey, your lungs will rejoice, you begin to feel the benefits in a couple of days. but please non smokers do not bug smokers to quit a friendly reminder is ok but constant nagging is sometimes downright irritating, they will quit when they feel the time is right (although a lot would contest that there is no better time than now). as a smoker or ex-smoker i am aware that this is a filthy, unhealthy habit. but.... its all a matter of preference. peace!

An Open Letter to all PinoyMTBiker babes When you're young, and strong, and feel invincible, you smoke and drink to your heart's content. You get puyat (overwork and no sleep), stress your body to the max and get hurt with no worries. You stand up quick everytime you fall down. You recover easy, get back in shape in a jiffy. You don't have health issues, You do things your own way, you don't care. you don't like being told to do this and do that. You do crazy things you know you shouldn't do over and over again, but hey, you don't have kids watching you, and you don't have insurance either, but who cares? When you have a family, when you have kids, you start being conscious of what you do, you start being protective of others, you become health-conscious and rediscover traditional values. I guess, it takes different times for different people, to realize... Smoking hurts in a very bad way, in the short run and in the long run, specially women (affects your reproductive health irreversible, ask the doctors). Hurts the environment as well. Nagging never made anyone lovable, I know but somebody got to do it. That's what friends are for.

Hi just wanted to share, I tried to quit smoking once before 2 years actually 2000 to 2002, when I was working for a dive resort, smoking and diving is really hard specially if you go deep. I was successful then. But, I moved to a different company, and almost all my colleagues smoked and combined with pure pressure, I started smoking again, without any excercise only smoking and drinking. Early this year I started biking again. Then I joined PinoyMTBiker last August 2007 only, after my first reverse palace, I didnt quit, but I minimized my smoking, because instead of smoking Id rather check on PinoyMTBiker stuff, well, to cut the long story short, I smoked my last cigarette last mid September (forgot which day), until now not a single puff, even if I drink, I dont smoke anymore, it was really hard at first all the coughing and hard recovery, at least 2 weeks of pain. But now, I dont smoke anymore and Im planning to keep it that way, all my smoker friends are shocked with what happened, normally Im the one who has the pack or who invites people to smoke, but now, no more, honestly I think MTbiking has a great influence in my quiting of this particular vice. For a guy who eats smoke for breakfast, am snack, lunch, pm snack, dinner and midnight snack, I know its hard to quit I've been there, but, IT IS POSSIBLE!!! Believe me!!! :-) for those who are planning to quit, good luck, lets all bike instead.

After completing one day of no Smoking... I just notice, I'm not smoking for more than a year now... Quit smoking is hard, your brain is looking for the feeling of sensation from the cigarette. But, you can quite if you do mind settings... give yourself target date, smoke as you want before that date, then stop smoking on your target date... try to complete the first 30min, 1st 1 hour, first day, first week, first month, first year. After two years, you are totally successful in quiting. But if you smoke a single cigarette during this period. You just want to make yourself addictied again to smoking.... so don't try, it must be totally zero ... Quit smoking is a good new years resolution...

Thanks Whoopi!!! :-) (I really wish this goes all the way), because I tried quiting before and it returned, but hopefully not anymore, my system has completely rejected smoking already. :-)
